Childcare.co.uk offer £10,000,000 of free Public Liability insurance, underwritten by Markel International Insurance Company Limited, to Private Tutors that are gold members and who have opted-in to our scheme.

Free Private Tutor Professional Indemnity Insurance

The policy also includes £100,000 of free Professional Indemnity Insurance.

Free Private Tutor Legal Expenses Cover

Members of our insurance scheme receive free Legal Expenses Cover and access to a 24 hour Legal Helpline.

Private tutors only benefit from Criminal defence, Childcare proceedings, Representation prior to a barring session, Employment disputes (if you are an employer), tax protection and contract cover aspects of the Legal Expenses Cover plus access to the legal helpline. 

The Legal Expenses Cover policy is underwritten, managed and administered by Markel International Insurance Company Limited.

Free Private Tutor Loss of Revenue & Suspension Cover

The policy includes free Loss of Revenue & Suspension Cover.

If you are unable to work due to an interruption in your business then cover of up to £20,000 may be available.

If your registration is suspended by your regulatory body (eg. Ofsted) then cover of up to £2,500 may be available.

Additional Terms & Conditions for Private Tutors and General Exclusions

• To qualify for the insurance you must have at least 3 years experience in a teaching capacity or be a post graduate student providing teaching, lecturing or coaching in your subject area.
• Licence cover and Suspension cover only applies to Ofsted registered tutors or those registered with the equivalent body elsewhere in the UK.
• Private tutors are not covered for babysitting under the scheme.

• Once you are covered under the policy, any changes to your Childcare.co.uk account that would disqualify you from the cover, will result in your cover immediately expiring. If your gold membership expires then your cover will immediately cease. When submitting your details to apply, you must provide your correct full name and full address. If you change your name or address you must let us know immediately. Applications with invalid or non-current names and addresses will not be valid and you will not be covered.
