Brilliant Nanny

Gill is a brilliant nanny. She ticks every box you would hope for, or expect. She is reliable, good at time keeping, organised, unflappable, trustworthy, honest, kind, calm and fun. Furthermore Gill is creative, imaginative, gets involved, genuinely has fun with small people and has energy and enthusiasm for games and imaginative play. She is fair and consistent and has been a hugely positive influence on our now 6 year old boy and 3 year old girl over the past few years. Gill seems able to take on any challenge thrown her way, and has continually had ideas and improvements, such as organising and finding fun pre-school classes, holiday activities, play-dates, after-school fun with baking, craft and things in the garden.
Gill worked for us as our nanny from September 2018 - April 2021. Gill has had to move on to a new family because we are imminently relocating and by mutual agreement has been seeking a new role, but is looking for a new role in September 2021.
Shortly after starting with us, only a few weeks, our youngest started becoming ill and was diagnosed with a serious illness. During the following two years plus of treatment, Gill has been a huge support to both us parents and her brother as well as our daughter. She has provided continuity to us all and support around the house, taking on every new challenge and the ups and downs of treatment and numerous emergency hospital admissions without a murmur. I genuinely don’t know what we would have done without her.
As well as childcare, Gill’s role has included light housekeeping of the children’s rooms and family rooms, meal preparation and cooking, laundry, school run, taking to swimming lessons, and unfortunately for us all, played a role in our attempts at home-schooling through this last year of COVID. Gill’s experience has quietly and kindly kept us organised and together, and has been a god-send to us as a household in addition to being our nanny. Many people over the last few years have assumed Gill is our children’s grandmother, such is the kindness and care with which she undertakes her role. I don’t think there is higher praise than this.
