‘home from home’ environment
My 32-month-old son has been going to Kerrys from June 2019 until Feb 2021 and could not have been happier there. I only withdrew him recently due to a change in our circumstances.
I returned to work full time when my son was 13 months old and was extremely apprehensive about leaving him with someone I didn’t know. I’d had a difficult maternity leave as my dad developed cancer not long after my son was born and died months later. This added to my apprehension of leaving my son and I was worried the stress and grief had affected him. Initially, my son had quite severe separation anxiety but we worked in partnership with Kerry and her team to help him feel more secure when in her care. I honestly questioned my decision to return to work as he did struggle with the transition. However, with patience, kindness and constant reassurance from Kerry and her team he developed the resilience to thrive outside of my care. We have all seen such a positive change in him whilst with Kerry. He has grown into a confident, happy and polite little boy and this is due to the amazing care he has received from Kerry and her team. I honestly believe he would not be at the stage he is without having gone to Kerry’s. Every morning he says ‘I go Kerry’s?’ and is delighted when I say yes. Her beautiful, impeccably clean (even pre Covid) home provided a safe, nurturing space for him to grow, develop and learn. She provides fantastic age appropriate activities that he enjoyed, and an amazing purpose built garden bursting with slides, swings, ride on toys and footballs. Unlike nurseries and many childminders, Kerry provides regular updates throughout the day with photos and videos showing what my little boy was doing. She provides healthy, homemade, nutritious meals and snacks and also treats for birthdays.
Kerry and her team are early year’s professionals who hold the childrens best interests at the heart of everything they do. They genuinely love and care for the children in their care and provide regular development updates and recommendations. Kerry and her setting became an extension of my little boy’s family and he in turn, loves her and the other children there, making lifelong friends. A special mention to ‘Nanny K’ (Kerry’s mum) who my little boy loves dearly. I wish Kerry and her wonderful team every success for the future
