My Summary
About Me
UPDATE - I have found employment commencing middle of August. I may have some availability up until that point for some ad hoc work.
Mother of boy/girl twins, aged 23, now flown the nest, has given me the flexibility to develop my career doing something I want to do. Between 1998-2010 I took a career break, and have a wealth of experience travelling the world with my husband's career. Having to set up home several times and settling my children into different schools, I have developed life skills which have given me the ability to adapt and enable me to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life whilst raising my family and maintaining a family home. During this time I had many voluntary roles including, Brownie pack leader, cookery classes for 4/5 yr olds, and swimming lesson co-ordinator.
I consider that I am a conscientious, approachable, friendly and an energetic person, Being a parent myself has given me the experience and advantage of having the insight and understanding of how a parent feels. My life experience and career to date, have provided me with extensive knowledge and understanding of communicating with all levels of staff, students, parents and members of the public, giving me the ability to handle situations in a tactful, diplomatic and confidential manner.
My Experience
For the last 18months I have been working full time for a lovely local family as a housekeeper / PA / nanny and have built a close connection with the family (B15 & G12). I have thoroughly enjoyed this role, being there for the children after school, whether it be to provide a snack, helping them get organised for activities, assisting with homework, pick ups / drops offs or just for a chat, on all levels of typical teenager subjects. I have organised all aspects of school life, trips, school emails, running errands, weekly online shop, cooking and preparing food and some household chores. This role will be finishing at the end of June due to the family's personal circumstances.
Previous to this I worked for 3 years as a part time nanny. I have found this to be extremely rewarding. I built up a close bond with the children (age 3yrs & 6yrs) and had a good relationship with the family. During this time I also had a couple of self employed roles, looking after children before and after school and doing the school run.
For 6 years prior to this I was employed in early years child education which was both challenging and rewarding knowing that I have positively contributed to a child’s learning. I have worked as a key worker for a group of children, 1:1 with SEN children and latterly as an Early Years Administrator.
The start of my career began working in various administration roles for differing types of business including Cheshire Police Force where I enjoyed the level of trust and responsibility that this position gave me.

Linda helped us out with school runs and before and after school care a couple of days a week for a year or so. Linda was amazing with the children (aged 8 and 10 years) who both love her (and still like to catch up with Linda now). Linda is very organised and helped the children to get organised for their school day, but is also great fun with the children and very is very caring. She seems to get the balance between fun and wanting good behaviour just right. Linda also found time to tidy up after all the fun and games too! We couldn’t recommend Linda highly enough.
We had to use Linda for some emergency childminding for a few days as our childminder was off. Linda was wonderful, with fabulous communication throughout whilst we were organising. The boys (18 months and nearly 3) immediately warmed to her and she did lots of great activities with them; the eldest even gave her a big hug when she left! Would definitely use again.

Thank you for the review. It was lovely to meet you all, the boys were a pleasure to spend time with. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you require any childcare needs in the future.
Linda babysat our two children so we could attend a funeral. Linda came to our hotel with a bag of toys and was not fazed at being left in a strange hotel with two toddlers and only the very briefest of introductions. Linda instantly put our minds at ease and we knew our children would be safe and well cared for. Our children had a lovely time with Linda and have been talking about their new friend!
We travelled to the UK in July 2019 for work -- my husband and I are both scientists. We engaged Linda to watch our little boy of 6 months old for two days while we went to our conference. Linda was wonderful with him! She has a very calm and gentle manner which we prefer. Her instincts were also very good (like not liking him to have a certain toy in his mouth because she wasn't sure about the paint it had on it). She had no problem getting him to sleep, eat, and play quietly and she took him for nice walks outside. Linda was very good with communication and punctuality and was very professional. If we travel that way again we would happily engage her to watch him again.
