About Me
We are a small, international family of 3 (2 parents and 1 daughter) living in Marylebone. Our lovely daughter is 6.5 years old, and enjoys music, crafts, dress-up, and outdoor activities. We do not smoke, and don’t have any pets.
My Requirements
Our family is looking for an after-school nanny (approximately 20 hours/week) for our six-year-old daughter. She is an incredibly sweet, gentle, and playful girl who aims to please. The primary job responsibilities include collecting the child from her school in Hammersmith, accompanying her to extra-curricular activities in central London using public transit, and feeding the child dinner at her home in Marylebone. The ideal candidate would speak German and/or French in addition to English as the child lives in a multilingual household that is actively working to increase her confidence in both languages. Our daughter is learning fast and would benefit from a nanny who can support her as she strengthens her literacy and numeracy skills through daily practice after school. Someone with basic piano skills who can help the child practice regularly is an added bonus.
We require some light grocery shopping and cooking, which is most easily done in bulk one day per week while the child is at school. We have a housekeeper who visits twice weekly, so minimal cleaning is required of the nanny beyond basic tidying. Most weeks, the nanny will be asked to babysit one evening. The child loves sleeping, so babysitting her is extremely easy. The mother (me) has recently begun a new job that requires her to travel semi-regularly to Paris and Amsterdam. As such, the nanny would likely be required to babysit an additional one to two evenings per week while the mother is on business trips once or twice monthly. We travel frequently, affording the nanny a great deal of vacation time. However, when the we elect to remain in London during school breaks, the nanny will be required to work full-time. This is especially important during the summer holidays, the majority of which the family spends in the city.
The position is set to begin the first week of September depending when the family returns from their summer holidays. Ideally, the candidate would be available for one or two handover days in early August with the current nanny to get familiar with the our home, neighborhood, and routine. I look forward to hearing from interested applicants.
