Poor paperwork process and professionalism

We were happy with her in terms of her care but not on her knowledge of her legal responsibilities. We went ahead and despite a request for a contract before starting, this was not provided. The contract was sent after my daughter had started on the 26th February. I wish to clarify that she wished us to sign the contract but it wasn’t sent until March 2. It was for both sides. As a result, she did not make us aware of the lump sum deposit she wanted, in addition to the first months payment (it came to a £1000 up front) until two days before my child started. She then gave me a two week cancellation (she could as contract signing was not done) and informed me that she had given my place away - so she admitted she went behind our back and enrolled another child. Her professionalism and the way she does her paperwork is not proper. Then, when I wanted to collect my belongings, I informed her by email and she confirmed receipt by responding that that was fine and asking the time.

I strive to provide a very caring and nurturing environment for the children in my care. It is my top priority to provide a safe and secure environment for the children to strive, as you have experienced yourself during the settling-in period. I have been caring for young babies from as old as 6 months and still care them after 3 years. This shows how happy the parents of the children I care for and you have spoke to them yourself few times before you decide to send your little one in my care.

Most important for me (and for prospective parents) is that to hear that you are happy with "all aspect of the care" I provided during the settling period. Sorry to hear that you were not happy with deposit terms. It is common practice to take 4 weeks of deposit as the childcare invoice is settled in arrears at the end of the month.

Your willingness to sign the contract shows that you were happy with my care.

What we do not tolerate is offence language used, especially in front of the children and could not offer my services.

I’m sorry and equally sad to hear these words and I’m sorry if you have taken offence to my words.
You’ve put me in a difficult position and left me with many regrets.
If you still want to work this out then let me know. I will pay you this deposit immediately as I also understand that different childminders can have different rules.

I must say that I am pleased to hear that you have no concerns with the actual care I have provided to Siena in Feb. This is more important for me than anything as you can imagine. All the parents are very happy with the care i provide, and you have already spoken to them.
