Abi looked after our first born son for a 2-3 days a week from the age of 14months to 3years old. Our son had spent very little time with adults outside the immediate family before I went back to work after maternity leave. After extensive research I found a childminder in the area that I thought “ticked the boxes” but our son was miserable and cried throughout the settling in sessions and beyond for three weeks. I was on the edge of quitting my job when I met Abi. The difference was astonishing. He did not cry once and his first word was “abi”!! Abi is an absolute natural with children and genuinely loves her job. She formed an extremely strong bond with our son and he was always delighted to go to her house. She has a very optimistic and happy disposition and is also very flexible which suited us well. We liked that our son was able to interact with some older children after school who always seemed really nicely mannered and at home in Abi’s care. Such was the bond that our son formed that we continued to drive him to abi for a year after we moved from Richmond to Kingston. Highly recommend if you are looking for genuine loving care and a good sense of fun.
