Jan looked after our son from his first birthday in October 2019 until just before his second birthday as part of her moving away and relocating.
From the moment we first met Jan, we both felt reassured that we would be leaving our little boy in a safe and loving environment. At the beginning, when we were apprehensive about leaving our son with a stranger, Jan was brilliant at providing us with reassurance, sending photos throughout the day and then communicating with us via a diary/notes in the evening detailing what our son had been up to, how long he slept, what he had eaten (always home made nutritious meals) and nappy changes etc.
Jan took him to a variety of different clubs to help him develop his social skills and understanding, they did lots of arts and crafts and provided him with a ‘home from home’ experience.
Our son loved going to see Jan (and Bear the dog) and was never hesitant to run into her home each morning, which made us really happy to see.
As parents, we found Jan easy to deal with, always happy to answer our (many) questions about our son’s development, which we had as first-time parents.
We were so sad when Jan told of us her decision to move away but feel very lucky that our son was in her care for the important year that he was.

Janette started looking after my daughter Alice in June 2019 when she was 14 months old. She has a lovely and welcoming home with plenty of educational toys and books my daughter loved playing with.
Alice was very happy during drop offs and was always excited to see Janette which kept me reassured she had the best time whilst she was in her care. Together they used to go to the local kids park, toddler groups, pet shop or meet other childminders so their day was always filled with many different and exciting activities, as well as doing lots of beautiful arts and crafts Alice used to bring home with her.
Janette kept a diary of Alice's daily activities, nap times, nappy changes and meals which was extremely helpful (Janette also provided fresh home cooked meals, snacks and fruit).
I would recommend Janette to anyone who's looking for an experienced, warm, caring childminder who will help their children develop and learn new things and get them ready for the next big step in their life - school.

Both my children started with Jan when they were 12 months old and my older child has only stopped because she started school. My youngest still goes to Jan's once a week. We are really pleased with how both our children have developed and progressed under Jan's care.
Jan offers a warm and nurturing environment. She provides a wide selection of age appropriate toys for the children to play with and a variety of activities for the children to engage in. They frequently come back with arts and crafts projects they have been working on, often linked to seasonal events such as Halloween, Christmas, Chinese New Year. Jan has also done baking with them, allowing my daughter to pick a recipe from the book.
Jan will also arrange various outings, including toddler group, the library and the park, sometimes meeting up with other childminders with similar aged children so the kids can play together.
Jan will liaise with us to make sure that the children are developing well and she has been continuously supportive to their needs. Every evening we can review the day's activities in the diary and this is supplemented with updates and photos that Jan sends us throughout the day via WhatsApp.
We would have no hesitation in recommending Jan as a great childminder.
