Julie is an amazing and wonderful Childminder

This is the second time my eldest has been to Julie's. First time was about 5 years ago for a 2 year period. And he absolutely loved going every day. Since returning to Julie's 8 months ago, we have been nothing then happy with the service she provides to our children.

My eldest was so excited to hear that julie was going to look after him agian. My children go for a mixture of before and after school session and also my youngest baby for full days.

Julie is absolutely amazing human being. She is supper supportive, knowledgeable, thoughtful, flexible and we would be lost without her kindness. She and her Partner Barry love to keep us parents updated throughout the day on the children's activities and they go the extra mile to make sure the children are entertained; with lots of creative activities, toys, lots adventurous walks in the woods, visits e.g. farms, bishops palace, soft play and additional trips to local activities withing the area.

I had absolutely had no doubt about sending my children. As we know 100% that we had made the right choice. Both my children love the time they spend with Julie and Barry. They have made many new friends.

If you are looking for quality childcare with a safe and fun environment, stop because you've found it. I would 100% recommend Julie and Barry, they are brillant childcare providers. Thank you for everything you do Julie and Barry M&G Marchant

Always goes the extra mile; Julie really cares.

My son and daughter have been looked after by Julie since my son started school 6 years ago. Julie is extremely reliable: not only has she always been there to pick up/drop off from school, provide play time, activities, food, Julie us extremely flexible and understanding and will always do her best to accommodate any request as well as making it special for the children during times of celebration i.e. birthdays, holidays etc. In my experience, this is very rare. Julie genuinely cares about the children she looks after - their well being, happiness and interests. I highly recommend Julie and her wonderful childminding service.

Always goes the extra mile

Julie looks after my two year old full time and my 5 year old before and after school. The children love it at Julies who always goes the extra mile to ensure the kids are having fun. Birthdays, Christmas and the school holidays are always jam packed with fun activities. There is ample space for the kids to play inside and outside and plenty of animals to keep them entertained too. Julie helped to home school my 5 year old when the schools closed and really helped him progress with his learning. It really is a great environment for kids to play and learn.

Simply Wonderful

Being a police officer, I find it extremely hard to trust anyone and when I was looking for a flexible childminder that I could trust my child with, I found Julie. My daughter has been with Julie for 10 months now and absolutely loves going to the point she doesn't even say goodbye to me anymore! She is looked after beautifully, kept entertained all day, is taught lovely manners and table manners. Julie respects your views as a parent and is always there to give great, experienced advice. Julie's home is my daughters second home, she feels comfortable and happy there and she truly is part of the child minding family unit that Julie has built. Julie also has been amazing working around my shift pattern which was a huge worry for me as Nurserys did not accommodate at all. Overall, I could not have asked for a better person to look after my daughter.

Professional childminder

Julie was a childminder for my children for 5 years. The care that she provided to my children was comprehensive. I never had to worry about my children because I knew they had the best care possible. I am Julie extremely grateful for how she raised my children while I was working. Always open to suggestions, comments or insights. Julie offers a warm, friendly and open home to every child who is treated individually. I owe Julie a lot and recommend to every parent who is looking for professional care

I’ve a very soft spot for Max a moo moo I always will have .. we have a special love for one another .. Tobi well he’s just lush .. I’m super proud of how well he’s doing with his sports .. he taught me a lot about bilingual children.. I’m so glad I still see them at school other wise I’d be heartbroken..

Fantastic in all aspects

My little boy charlie who's nearly 4 has been going to Julie's part time since he was 8 months (2/3) days a week. He absolutely loves it , he wakes up every morning asking if he is going to Julie's and as soon as I say "yes" he is over the moon that he is spending the day with her! Julie has been fantastic in giving him confidence and encouragement in all aspects over the last 4 years. She is kind and caring and is always there for a cuddle when he wants one. It is like home from home at Julie's house and she will always go the extra mile to help and be flexible.
Julie is also a great teacher, Charlie loves learning his numbers, letters & shapes ect and he makes great progress with julie. Her partner and her son are also both lovely and the kids think they are all great 😊 I would be lost with out her and will be using her for many more years to come!

Our daughter loves Julie

We’ve been using Julie for breakfast/after school care and school holidays. Our daughter loves going there “Julies Shepard’s pie is the best as she has beans in it!” Plus she super organised and plans any leave a year in advance so you can plan ahead.

We Love Julie

Julie is an absolutely fantastic childminder, words cannot begin to express my gratitude for all of her help with my two over the past 4 years. When you hand over your children to someone you want to know that they will be safe, happy and nurtured...I can safely say that both of my two feel that way when they are with Julie. She treats each of her children as individuals and I know that she loves each and every one of them. She offers a great range of enrichment activities for them all and operates in a firm but very fair way. She takes a keen interest in all of their achievements at home and at school and will always make an effort to celebrate these with them. Julie goes above and beyond for all of her families whenever she can. Over the years she has offered both practical and emotional support to us all which is very much appreciated and, I believe, beyond her remit as a childminder.
For as long as I need a childminder I will use Julie and would have no hesitation in recommending her to other parents.

Double Whammy

I was one of Julie’s first childminding children 20 years ago so I know first hand what a lovely and fun home Julie has. I now have a 4 year daughter whom Julie looks after before and after school 3 days a week and during the holidays. My daughter went to a nursery before going to Julie’s and seeing Julie and her assistant Jane with the babies and younger children made me wish that I had sent her straight here! She’s loves all the activities that Julie puts on for the children and also tells me “Julie cooks the best pasta ever”!

Julie is the foundation of many successful parents

Julie doesn't sell herself very well and that's because she is selfless. My son went to Julie's when he was in my eyes still a baby. He started off part time until u got a full time job. This was the start of an incredible journey for my son and I.
I worked at a local hospital, 24hr rotational shifts. Between me my sons father and Julie I believe there was some stability in his life. I got very poorly in 2007 I had meningitis and was not aware of what was going on around me for quite some months. Julie, Phil and her boys were very supportive and at this terrible time. I don't have much memory about the day to day events. All I know is Julie was always ready to help with Stew. I recovered from meningitis and I gradually returned back to work. We soon got back to normal. I started my nurse training in 2007. I was studying hard working bank shifts and to top it off my relationship with Stews dad broke down. A very difficult time for us all. Julie and Phil were amazing they listened to me blubber for hours on end. They encouraged me to continue with my studies. I shouldn't mention this but she wavered childminding fees as I was struggling financially as a single student mum. On top of this she was flexible and never questioned my shifts. If I worked nights he went to Julie's, if I worked Sat, Sun early or late shifts again he went to Julie's if he wasn't at his dad's. Knowing Stew was with Julie took the stress out of going to work. I knew he would always have a hot meal, he was encouraged to do activities. I suppose I should mention Stew, use to call Julie mum, I beat myself up about that one bit Julie reassured me that he knew who his mum was. Mmmm I wasn't convinced because when I wasn't working he would ask to go to Jujus. He started school again I found this to be stress free as Stew knew most of the children through the school runs.
Julie supported me through my sons faddy eating and at times we met to discuss behaviours. We generally conquered the problems through working together. My son and I lived with Julie for a while as we were in between homes. These were happy days for me and I felt part of there family. As time went on Stew stopped needing a childminder but she has never stopped being supportive. I highly recommend Julie she provides a home from home environment and gives gives gives. This is only snippet of what Julie and Phil done for us. Without Julie and Phil my life could of been so different. Even when Phil was diagnosed with cancer they carried on. I have so much respect for you. Much love and appreciation to Julie and Phil.
Update since Stew left Julie's' his table manners remain impeccable he now asks me to make chilli like Ju makes it. He asks me to make Sarah's potatoes too. He isn't afraid of doing chores and is good with animals. I don't know if my sons shoe size has got anything to do with him going to Julie's but he is a size 11.5 for goodness sake and I know her children have large feet lol. If I had to do it all again I would not hesitate to have Julie looking after my child. So much appreciation to you and your family.

Julie has been an incredible child minder and my son settled so well in to Julie’s house she goes above and beyond for all her parents and children and I would reccomend Julie to anyone looking for a perfect childminder for their child! A Really lovely lady

Amazing

Julie is amazing and the devolpememt amd confidence with my youngest is amazimg in such a short time i couldnt reccomend julie enough, i found she is so caring and both my 2 settled in so quickly they loved everything they done there and they were never bored which for my older one was a big thing as he has so much energy thank you julie for everything and i reallt hope to keep in touch coz i think rosa will really miss u xx

Fantastic find

We moved to Wells almost a year ago and were very lucky to find Julie, before we moved our little boy was attending a nursery so we were not sure how he would find moving to a childminder- but it was the best decision we could have made. His development has come on so well since he has been with Julie, and she knows exactly what he has been up to during the day (not something we got with him at nursery, with all the different staff looking after him).

On top of this Julie has invited us to a private Facebook group where she shares pictures of what he's been doing during the day, it's great to check these messages during the day and see all the fun things he's been getting up to!

I could not recommend Julie enough, she has been a fantastic find.

great childminder

Julie and her assistant have been looking after my son Alex for 18 months now and have built up a strong rapport alongside her 2 children who although are 16 and 18 help and socialise with the children too. It's very much a family orientated, no nonsense, fun house and I would be happy to recommend to future parents. Also Julie is always on hand with extra advice if needed and has a great sense of humour.
Overall it's a safe friendly happy environment which ultimately children need.

Brilliant

I needed to find a childminder for my 1 month sister, we weren't with Julie very long due to unforeseen circumstances. However, I couldn't have met better people! Julie and everyone in her household when I went round helped me through a lot when I needed support even though they barely knew me and the care they gave my sister was brilliant. Cannot be thankful enough.

Highly recommended!!!

Fantastic!

Julie came and baby sat 4 little ones in a hotel room while we went out for the night. She was absolutely brilliant. She managed to feed them and get them all to sleep by 9pm!
She is an absolute star and I had no concerns about leaving her with my little ones within just minutes of meeting her. We spoke on the phone prior to the evening and she reassuringly sent me text messages during the day and on the evening she baby sat for us.

wonderful people

It was a heavy period in my life when the first time I left Filip with Julie and Phil especially that he doesn't spoke english.Julie and Phil are wonderful people and have a house full of love.They gave my child a lot of warmth and caring.After the first month I saw already the first progress through the English language and Filip's positive behavior.They always caring towards children.I feel very lucky to have found them and the support I have received to go to work.Thanks a lot you both for all help.

Thanks for your review Joanne, Filip is making good progress with his English..we always try to support not just the children but our mums and dads to. Several of my parents found it hard going back to work, but when your children rush off in the mornings without a backward glance it tells you every thing. Your great parents to work for, which makes it all the better for Filip. As team work is the key.

Excellent!

I went back to work my my son was 6 months old so finding the right childcare for him was very important. After weeks of viewing various nurseries & childminders we met Phill & Julie and knew instantly that they were the right couple to care for our son. The best way I can sum up is that they offer the facilities of a nursery with the nurture & care of a childminder. We have been very pleased with our decision. Jacob gets love & education along with amazing food and great facilities. It really is a home from home and Jacob has learnt great social skills from interacting with the other children. Julie & Phils philosophy on education, eating & discipline is the perfect fit for us and so we now benefit from a well behaved, loving and healthy little man. Returning to work after having Jacob was very hard and I thank Julie for her support. There has never been a day when Jacob cried at being dropped off or was in a rush to come home, infact when I arrive to collect him he runs over for a cuddle then returns to what he was doing and that to me is the best recommendation of all for the service that Julie & Phill offer.

Laura, I know how hard you found it returning to work..I'm glad I was able to offer support.Jacob is a real sweetie, everyone thinks so and comments that he smells yummy.. For anyone reading , it must be Laura's washing powder..but yummy he is.I know you have had to be extra flexible with Phill having cancer. Phill & I are most grateful ,but everyone has been to work and the children not effected in any way, everyone has pulled together like a huge family to care or all the children. Jacob, with everyone working together as a team, will grow up to be a fine young man. I look forward to working with you for many more years and a huge party when Phills recovered.. Home from home

I have been using Julie and Phil for my childcare during school holidays for 6 years for my 2 children now aged 11 & 13. They now regard Julie's as their second home and I usually have to prise them away there is so much for them to do. I don't know how Julie finds the time, but she regularly cooks and does crafting with the children and gives them a cooked meal at lunch times, which means I don't have to cook later.
My son was always picky with his food but with help from Julie and Phil he has got much better - thanks for the perseverance .
Recently I have changed jobs and now have to work weekends, it has been a Godsend that Julie and Phil are available as so many childminders do not work weekends.

I would not hesitate to recommend Julie and Phil to anyone. Thanks to you both for all of your help in the last 6 years.

I can't quite believe six years has gone by, where does the time go. Its been an interesting journey at times, but we got through it. Weve been glad to help with your change of job and its lovely to see the children through the term time and not just holidays. When youv'e been here this long you are most definitly part of the furniture, sometimes my cooking is even better than yours!!!! But im not supposed to say so. Fantastic!

Julie & Phil are fantastic. Ditto all the fantastic reviews above. My five year old daughter has come on leaps and bounds with her behaviour and manners in their company. Julie has taken the time to read my daughter’s school book with her each day and work with her on some trouble areas she was having with her speech. Julie always been there to provide excellent advice and support on all aspects of child care and behaviour. I was very lucky to find her. Their facilities are excellent with a dedicated summerhouse to the kids’ toys and a huge garden to play in.
It was with much upset that we have had to leave Julie & Phil following our house move to a different county. I cannot recommend Julie & Phil enough.

An Angel

Dear Julie ( and Phil) , I am not sure where to start. I thank God everyday for creating the opportunity to meet you. You have been a lifesaver in what could have been a very difficult situation. I will never forget the feeling I got when I walked into your house, it was calm, peaceful, loving, inviting, nurturing and homely. I remember your suggestion that I read some of your reviews and although I felt all I needed to feel to choose your home as my son's 2nd home, I thought it was only polite to say yes. I never finished the review as it would only confirm what I felt the minute I walked through your front door. You have both been amazing, considerate and accommodating to us and have made it possible to have a good family life while working full time. I have always been a firm believer in routines and discipline and was thrilled about your strict meal time rules and insistence on good behaviour at all times. It always amazes me how you can have a house full of children ( and adults) yet there is calm and quiet and everyone is happily (most of the time) doing what they are supposed to be doing!

You have made us feel part of your family and I am truly grateful and feel blessed to be one of your mums!

You are an amazing team and I would fully recommend you to any parent looking for a loving environment for their children in which to grow and develop.

Routines and discipline give children the boundies they need to blossom, happy children means happy carers, although it isn't always the easiest choice in the short term its alway the right choice in the long term. Your son is a credit to you, his manners are impeccable for one so young, thats down to your hard work, we just support you . Im not so sure our house is always calm... but there is order under that noise somewhere. We look forward in helping you with this next transitional stage in your young mans life, and continuing our great team work that helps not only your young man to thrive but all of us. Thankyou Ellie, your review made me laugh not cry, I have never looked after a small person who has had tantrums like Lewis lol. I was in utter dispair and so close to giving in ..... but I didn't and now we have the most delightful bright funny little boy. People stop us in the street to comment on the little ones with old ladies cooing over them, he's such a good two year old yes a few strops latley but really nothing like the old days!! Ellie your a great mum to work for, open minded and willing to try new ideas , all of which benefits Lewis.You have never been jealous that Lewis loves us ,you only see it as an advantage which is a credit to you. We can't wait to see your new baby, yes a quieter one would be great but if its as yummy as Lewis you will be a very lucky lady. I'm glad to see you feel a proper mummy now you can do projectile vomit ,without being sick yourself because I still struggle lol.Its most certainly a Phill job! You are all most definitely part of our family , if we don't work all together and communicate ,well then things just go to pot .I look forward to us all growing old together and watching all the kids growing up.Ju Phill Alex and Tobyxxx

Firstly it made me cry.... soft maybe but I'm so pleased our mums are happy, I have people ask me about my family time and doesn't having children encroach on this??? the answer is no ,because your all part of our family, I have learnt now that we are no ordinary family, tonight we have eight sleeping and were a family of four. We try as much as possible to accommodate our parents/child/childrens needs ,If we can help we will.What I've learnt from my parents who have had other childminders is that many are not providing the service that parents need. When I started thirteen years ago I worked eight to five maybe six, this is now very outdated , people work 24-7 I hate that expression but thats how it is and thats what we try to accommodate..
Also people are charging vast amounts of money which parents can ill afford. When I first worked for you many moons ago you only had one little girl, I know first time round you thought I was too strict!! but you came back not once but twice . Now your a mum of three and know you have to be strict or kids being kids will take the Michael!!! I've looked after all three, then two and now Rohan who has come on leaps and bounds being the only one, his manners are great, hes my little helper ,hes lovely to Lewis and gets toys for Kiki, and yes he hates cauliflower cheese but gives it a go bless him. Also when he sleeps over Alex and Roro get on like brothers.Your with me another year maybe more but i'm so aware of the miles you travel and how tiring it must be that we take it a week at a time. I'm sure there are things I could improve spelling being one of them lol, like paper work for Ofstead but were rubbish at that so with Jaimes help and Phill's in March we will work on that, not that I want to get you and Julie started on that!! as none of that interests you, just your children being loved and cared for as if they were our own . Jasinta & Ines, We wouldn't dream of treating all the kids we take care of any different than our own boys. Your a really good girl Ines your a credit to your mum who works her socks off.Its lovely for us having a girl stay over at night while your mums at works, and thankyou Jasinta for allowing me to have my girlie fix and not minding when I buy things, being at home in the evening is different from the day time as when we "clock off " its then family time . I know you hate your veggies and I promise on Christmas day Ines you can eat "rubbish" to your hearts content.Phill say next time he makes you lunch Ines he will remember to put it in your lunch box and not take you to school with an empty one!!!! arn't we rubbish ,we all had a laugh over it though! The boys are very pleased to have a "younger sister"in their family as thats how they feel about you Ines and so do Phill and I , but Alex says as family you should clean out the litter trays!!!! Jasinta i'm glad we provide peace of mind for you, as I can imagine how hard it is leaving your pride and joy with someone you didn't know in the beginning .We are looking forward to our Sunday lunch... Claire, I've lost count how many years weve worked together. There have been some difficult days with Matthew only a few I may add, but I've dealt with the day and when weve touched base at the end of a very long day for you , youv'e always trusted in me, I really respect you for that because I can imagine how hard that must be at times! You are all well and truly part of our family and I love you all .Matthew has blossomed and i'm sure he will continue to do so ,and I hope we have many more years together .With our new chapter in March with Phill helping full time

Julie.... what can I say! Weve worked for you for years now 6 or 7 is it? We have been through many hard times I don't feel we have done anything special only what you should when your helping someone out,although some of the stories I've heard of other childminders from my mums makes me realize what some parents go through hell.I know you found me having Stewie to start with very hard but you never said ,only now that we know one another so well do we laugh about it.I'm so proud that youv'e finished uni, having to cope with a difficult family time and trying to study on top , I know sometimes it all got a bit much and i'm glad I was there for those late night chats to get you through!!! You are a great mum ,not only to Stewart but to work for, we make a real team, Stewie is the one to benefit from this of course he's a credit to you , outsiders will never understand Alex Toby and Stewies relationship with Matthew included in this Claire, they all love one another like brothers we all find this very natural as they spend so much time together at mine and school ,they are in their minds eye all one family ,I think this is very dear, I love all my kids and will do all I can to help them and their families,I'm so looking forward to Phill working with me full time ,Its going to benefit the children greatly. I'm sure I could muster up some paper work for you Julie??? lol ,I can't really put into words how I feel about you all only that I love each and every one of you.
