About Us
Rose Hill School in Tunbridge Wells has just over 300 pupils across the Pre-Prep and Prep departments. Its size contributes to the supportive, safe environment, which allows each child to develop and become a confident individual.
Positive peer and Form Tutor influence is at the heart of everything the school does, ensuring that pupils are ready personally, socially and academically to move on to the next stage of their educational career.
Staff encourage children to strive to be the best they can be and aim to ensure that each child shines. Whilst academic achievement is important, the school is always looking for ways to extend the children’s opportunities outside the classroom and the list of free clubs on offer at lunchtime and after school are numerous and varied. Current favourites include the journalism club (which includes a blog to showcase written work) and the engineering club, which regularly races its go karts at various venues.
Constantly evolving to support modern teaching methods, the school recently opened a new £2.1m teaching facility, which includes a 95 sq m science laboratory, 6 teaching classrooms, 2 ICT suites, a new Learning Skills (LS) Department and a medical room for the school nurse.
Our Childcare Provision
The school day runs from 8:00am-4:00pm for children in the Prep School.
Children in Pre-Prep have slightly different timings. Children in Kindergarten start at 8:25am and finish at midday during their first term. This builds up to three full days by the summer term. Children in Reception finish at 3:30pm and children in Years 1 and 2 finish at 3:45pm. The school offers a before and after school facility, whereby children can be dropped from 8:00am and childcare is offered until 5:15pm.
