My Summary
About Me
I have been a childminder for the past year, however am currently restructuring and so will be closed between now and Spring term.
Due to this I am temporarily able to offer my time to a local family during school hours as a nanny.
I believe in the interconnection of all things and have a very positive outlook on life.
I have a child led approach to nannying, allowing time for whatever the child/children need physically and emotionally. I am fascinated by young minds and have a genuine passion for sharing experiences with children and being a part of their development.
I have a diploma in child nutrition and enjoy preparing healthy snacks and lunches.
I have a 6 year old daughter who is utterly amazing and is in school in Frome.
I have an annual pass for Longleat and enjoy photography, wildlife, walks, arts and crafts, gardening and generally being outdoors.
I would love to look after a preschooler whilst my daughter is at school.

My Experience
References and brief descriptions of past nanny roles:
"Sarah joined our family as a nanny to our two daughters, 7 and 4, in August 2014 in order to cover the fact that my wife is attending a post-graduate course at university.
Sarah has always made excellent use of her time with our girls, expanding their horizons through a varied mixture of play, reading, outings and educational activities tailored to their ages and capabilities. She quickly built a strong bond with the girls and has successfully metered out gentle but effective form of discipline using a balance of approaches focussed on rewarding good behaviour.
Her other duties have included the management of the children's laundry, playroom, toys and art/craft ,materials which she has always carried out with diligence and no small amount of imagination and organisational skills. Sarah has always been punctual and understanding of sudden change to the daily routine due to overrunning work days of mine or my wife's.
Due to unfortunate financial circumstances we have been forced make the role redundant and have no hesitation in recommending Sarah to any future employer."
To give a short rundown of my involvement with the two girls I have listed some of my responsibilities below:
With the 3/4 year old:
*Help with breakfast and getting ready in the mornings
*Maintaining and establishing new routines including age appropriate activities and groups locally
*Preparing snacks, lunches and dinner
*Nurturing natural learning
*Being a playmate and ensuring ample time with playmates of similar age to her
*Guidance on sharing and resolving conflict in a calm manner
With the 6/7 year old:
*Help with getting ready for school, taking to school, collecting, helping with homework and various school related tasks
*Listening and giving appropriate advice
*Accompanying her to various after school activities
*Ensuring after school downtime, playdates and crafts
I also have taken a lot of effort to maintain the cleanliness and organisation of their bedroom and the playroom.
Within this role I have become very close to this family as a whole and this also includes the parents.
Another previous nanny role:
A 2 yr old boy...... A very much child led approach.
Kai ate a strictly natural diet and organic where possible.
Lots of venturing outdoors to the beach/ the woods/ nature reserve or similar to soak up the sights and sounds and usually talk and have fun with lots of imaginary play. Walking like octopuses on a long hunt for our lost marbles was always a favourite of ours!!
In short this role was all about allowing mother some downtime and due to her workshops that she attended I would look after her son from 7-10 days sole charge proxy parenting as and when needed.
I became close to Kais heart and this is what his mother has to say about me....
"Sarah is a gift to my life and my son. I had been looking for someone for a long time who could look after my son in the same way that I do, and I have finally found that person in Sarah. She has a natural gift with relating to a child at their level and listening to their needs, both spoken and unspoken. She is able to connect with my son fully and deeply, and stimulate his learning and creative playing in just the way I would hope from someone who I entrust to care for him for hours and even days at a time. My son has stayed for a whole week with Sarah and been looked after with utmost care and attention; Sarah has the ability to make him feel safe physically and emotionally even at his most difficult times. I have great respect for her and would recommend her to anyone who is looking for someone to not only look after but really be with their child."
A further nanny role:
3 afternoons of my week I use to also care for a 6 yr old girl ( and for a few months her 8 yr old brother, who when turned 9 and changed to a different school with longer hours). With this role I arrived at the family home an hour or so before school finished and would tidy the playroom, childrens bedrooms and once a week change the children's bedding. I then used my initiative regarding what else needed doing depending on the time left before school pick-up
