Hello, welcome to Poppins Childcare Montessori
Hello, my name is Sarah, I own Poppins Childcare Montessori, a Registered Childminding Setting in Andover. I work from my own home under the Registered Childminding Regulations.
Alot of my mums tend to choose my setting as I do work a little differently in general. I decided I wanted to continue the ethos I used as a nanny in family homes, an ethos I feel is incredibly important to a child.
Here, the parents view of how they would like the care of their child to take place is very important. Each child's individual routine is followed with in a basic setting routine. The parents take the lead and basically each parent has a nanny for their child. Every one calls me Nanny Sarah. In short my families are predominantly in control of the care of their children.
I am a Qualified Nursery Nurse and a Qualified Montessori Teacher, I have also worked as a Deputy Manager of a Montessori Nursery, I also currently provide Ad Hoc Nanny care and Evening Babysitting Care in family homes outside the hours of my Registered Childminding business.
My Experience
30 years experience in childcare. Largely this was from working as a children's nanny in family homes.
I have worked in day nursery, at one stage I was a deputy manager of a Montessori nursery.
I have extensive experience with twins having cared for 4 sets, one set was a month premature and incredibly small.
I am a mum to a beautiful little girl called Ella.
My Qualifications
BTEC DIPLOMA IN NURSERY NURSING. (2 year full - time college course. Had placement training which included, nurseries, schools, maternity units and family homes).
MONTESSORI TEACHING DIPLOMA. (2 year college course) also worked in the nursery as a Montessori teacher)
THE 3 DAY CHILDMINDING COURSE. (trained to be a Registered Childminder in 2011. )
PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID. (This is OFSTED recognised via ST John's Ambulance.
LEVEL 3 SAFEGUARDING.
LEVEL 4 Safeguarding
DBS (CRB).
REGISTERED WITH OFSTED.
LEVEL 2 FOOD HYGIENE (Training to prepare food as a food business).
EYFS TRAINING (Aditional training to help with learning journals).
MAkATON TRAINING (This gives me the ability to communicate with children who do not verbally speak. Sign language training).
My Availability
The setting is open Monday to Friday for the Home From Home Nanny Service (Registered Childminding).
I specialise in Term Time only care, yet still provides year round care if needed.
Their is no waiting list system. When a space comes up, I offer it out on a first come, first serve basis. I am happy to book your child in for a future space with a small deposit.

I was so thankful when Sarah rang me back after I had made multiple frantic calls to various child care services trying to get a childminder/nursery spor for my 2.5year old son who had not been looked after by anyone but family after a change in work circumstances mid-Covid.
She went out of her way to be so accommodating to our childcare needs and my son got settled so quickly.
He's now gone on to pre-school, but I feel Sarah set him up for this and he's settled so easily there too.

Thank you so much Emily, looking after your little one was pure joy.
My daughter started with Sarah at 14 months old and had bad separation anxiety. Sarah put my mind at ease the moment I went to visit her home and I knew straight away that my daughter was going to love it there. After a couple of weeks my daughter began to go to Sarah and put her arms out to be taken off me and for her this was a huge step as she was still wary of some family members at this point. Sarah is so professional and gave me fantastic advice not only as a childminder but as a parent and helped me establish a routine when I was struggling with bed time and also gave me ideas of ways to include my son with taking care of his little sister too. I would highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a caring, professional and amazing childminder who will make both you and your child feel safe and secure.

Thank you so much, I so much enjoyed looking after your little one, and it was so amazing to see the development in her.
Sarah is a fantastic childminder. Our son has been with Poppins childcare for three months, and he settled in with Sarah as soon as he met her. We had no difficulties leaving him at all (even though he was only 9 months old). He was so happy from the word go, and seems to thoroughly enjoy his days at her setting. Sarah is friendly, professional and very experienced, and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending her to anyone.

"Nanny" Sarah is a fantastic childminder. I found her through attending a local music group and after seeing how wonderful she was with the children she was looking after I was very happy to be able to put my son in her care when she had a space.
The electronic diary Sarah uses is wonderful for getting updates through the day and seeing pictures of my son happy and playing in different groups is very reassuring. Sarah will always message with a picture of him happy if he has been tearful when I drop him off.
When I needed extra days due to having to increase my working hours Sarah was happy to have my son for the extra hours even though it will only be for a few months before I go on maternity leave.
Sarah is wonderful with all children and always does all she can to accommodate any changes needed or extra sessions.

Sarah is a modern day “Mary Poppins”. Sarah is very warm and caring. She has a lovely nature about her and loves children. My son is autistic who Sarah has taken under her care and made him feel comfortable. In return has given him a lot of confidence. It is the happiest I’ve seen him which makes for happy parents.
Always had issues over the school holidays with my son stressing and becoming anxious. He went to Sarah’s for under 4 weeks and never had one complaint. Very happy boy. Sarah plans daily activities and is out with the children all the time.
Would highly recommend Sarah for your childcare needs.
