About Me
Hi, my name is Michelle, I am a fully registered OFSTED childminder. I live in Croxley Green with my husband and 3 children, twin girls aged 18 and my son aged 15.We also have 2 very friendly dogs & 2 very good tempered cats.
We live in a large house close to Croxley Green station with a separate playroom. Our garden has artificial grass which will allow for outdoor play all year round.
I qualified as a registered childminder in 2013 & received a good grading from Ofsted in my inspection in November 2015 & July 2019. I am also a qualified primary school teacher. I was a teacher for 18 years with outstanding status. I decided to change my career whilst still working with children which is where my passion lies.
My ethos is to treat all children in my care as if they were my own. Wipe away a tear, clean a cut knee & make time to listen to their concerns and news of their day with respect and understanding.
I aim to provide a warm, happy and secure home from home environment for all children. I wll provide lots of fun activities and plenty of playtime. I will provide daily organised activities including toddler groups, outings, trips to the park and indoor art and crafts sessions. I will use my teaching background to focus activities towards learning and education following the EYFS guidelines. To the children it will just be a fun and creative activity! I am also very aware that children sometimes just need some down time and I will always be mindful of this.
Using my teaching experience, I also offer a homework club for older children, for those who wish to take it up, at no extra cost. I hear children read, sign their reading diaries and oversee / assist with any homework set.

My Experience
I am a qualified primary teacher with outstanding status. I have been a teacher for 18 years and have experience in all year groups from nursery up to year 6.
I am also a mum to 3 lovely children. My 2 eldest children are twin girls so I really was thrown in at the deep end as far as parenting is concerned! Then 2 years later along came my son so for a while I had 3 children all under 3! This experience along with my teaching background has resulted in me being a very organised person.

Michelle now looks after both of our children Maisie and Finn. I cannot explain the feeling of watching your children chant in sheer joy and excitement every morning when they are nearly at “Shells” house. My husband and I are both educators and without Michelle and her wonderful family, we would never be able to show up in the way we do in our work. She makes everything so easy and is so flexible and understanding of parents evenings and our schedules sometimes changing due to work commitments.
Both Finn and Maisie have made such wonderful progress in their confidence, their reading and learning and that is all down to Michelle and her experience as a highly skilled childminder and primary school teacher. Every day they leave with crafts and are so proud of what they have created.
Every week Finn goes to toddler groups, soft play and the daily pictures and the look of utter happiness makes the mum guilt of being at work so much easier, as I know he is being treated like one of Michelle’s own children.
Michelle has high expectations for all children in respecting each-other, manners and kindness and that is so important to me.
Michelle has individual parent WhatsApp groups for updates and photos and a parents’ WhatsApp group where we share important information for dates and school info. Communication on all levels is excellent.
I fear the day Michelle stops childminding, because we honestly don’t know what we would do without her! She is one in a million!!

We have been using Michelle as our childminder for a year now, since our little boy was one, and we couldn’t be happier.
Our son’s confidence has grown so much since being with Michelle, and it’s clear how much he enjoys his time with her. She takes the children on fun trips to toddler groups and soft play, which he absolutely loves. The updates, photos, and videos she sends show just how much fun they all have, which is so reassuring.
One of the things we love most is how Michelle encourages interaction among the children from the moment they arrive. It’s lovely to see them playing and socialising together, and it’s clear she fosters a warm, inclusive environment.
From day one, Michelle has been also incredibly flexible and accommodating, making the whole process so easy for us as parents. Even going the extra mile with pickups and drop offs during the birth of our second son!
Michelle herself is so kind, personable, and approachable—she’s incredibly easy to talk to, and we feel completely at ease knowing she is caring for the most important thing in our lives. We trust her so much that we have no hesitation in also placing our second son in her care when he turns one later this year.
We couldn’t recommend Michelle more highly!

Thankyou for such a lovely review Charlotte. I’ve loved watching your little man grow over the past year & I'm very much looking forward to his little brother joining the crazy gang later this year.
The daunting prospect of leaving your child with someone is never an easy task but from the moment I met Michelle I knew our son would have the best person to care for him and to develop him.
He was almost one when he initially started with Michelle and was naturally tearful and missed me. However, he settled very quickly and loved seeing her everyday.
He has been given wonderful experiences to grow his social skills at toddler groups and soft play and as well as his motor skills. Her warm and friendly nature also made it an easy transition. He absolutely adores her and enjoys each day with her. I couldn’t recommend her enough.

We placed our second child with Michelle, just before his first birthday. This was an easy decision for us after having such an amazing experience with Michelle, first time around with our first child. Handing your child over doesn’t get easier however Michelle was amazing and helped our son quickly settle. There were lots of tears to begin with but Michelle was great and now he runs to the door and can’t wait to go off on adventures with Michelle and the other children in her care.
Michelle provides lots of rich activities and they are always off on adventures. My son attends a variety of toddler groups, is taken regularly on outings to the park as well as soft play. We feel the varied activities have enabled him to develop his gross and fine motor skills as well as providing a variety of opportunities for my son to socialise with a wide range of children in different settings which has really supported his communication and social skills.
Our communication with Michelle is second to none, she regularly updates us with development milestones and shares pictures so we know how he is getting on.
Michelle has greatly supported us as a family and always goes above and beyond to help us out if we are a bit stuck. Michelle shows so much care and love for our son, she feels like a big part of our family. She looks after our son like one of her own and I am forever grateful. Our son is safe, happy and developing well in her care, he adores Michelle and her family.

Amazing childcare and support.
Very accommodating and flexible as well which is great for a working parent.

Michelle is the most kind, nurturing, supportive and caring childminder out there. She really is an extension of our own family.
Being first time parents, it was a really difficult decision choosing the right childcare for our son. Myself and my husband were really apprehensive about the process initially. However after meeting Michelle on the first day, she instantly put us at ease. What cemented our decision, is that Michelle has an extensive teaching and early years knowledge which was really important to us.
We knew she would provide the best possible care for our son and we weren’t wrong. She has cared for our son now for over 2 years, throughout this time he has developed into a happy, polite, bright and sociable little boy.
Michelle always provides rich learning opportunities and enrichment activities for him. In addition to this, he has attended numerous toddler groups, play dates with other child minders, trips and numerous park visits. This has supported our son’s development and meant he has been able to form strong friendships with other children of a similar age which has been so important during Covid.
Michelle adores our son and she treats him like one of her own. He always goes to Michelle with a smile on his face and spring in his step and often doesn’t want to come home. She always goes above and beyond for us as a family and we are truly grateful for the support she has given us.
I would highly recommend Michelle, she is simply the best and we can’t thank her enough for what she has done for our little boy.

Leaving our daughter Maisie with a childminder at 7 months left me feeling so nervous and overwhelmed. How do you know who the right person is? Within minutes of meeting Michelle and her beautiful family and home, we knew immediately that she was the right person to help look after our daughter.
Maisie from the first day has smiled and laughed with sheer joy and excitement and every evening we pick her up she has the biggest smile and has had the loveliest day. Some days she doesn’t want to leave!!
Michelle has been an absolute saviour and has helped my husband and I out on so many occasions and goes above and beyond for us, and we cannot be more thankful.
I know that Maisie is treated like one of Michelle’s own children. Her children are so kind and caring and treat her with such patience and love. Maisie has the most wonderful role models to look up to and we are so lucky.
I honestly could not recommend Michelle enough. She is everything and more that you will need in a childminder. Her services and support are exceptional.

Our daughter started going to MIchelle after a friend recommended her. Our daughter had previously been in another childcare setting and had been heartbreakingly unhappy there. My daughter now skips out of the door to see Michelle and has a wonderful time with her. This has been transformational for our family, and taken such a weight off our minds. Michelle is warm and caring and deeply supportive and really understands children and what they need. Her communication is excellent and I have found her personally to be a huge support. She has really given me confidence as a parent and rebuilt our daughters confidence too. We are so happy we found Michelle and couldn't recommend her highly enough.

We absolutely couldn't be happier with Michelle and the setting she provides for our daughter. After considering our options for childcare in the area, including nurseries, I know that we have made the best choice and we are so lucky to have Michelle on our doorstep. Our daughter has been with Michelle since she was 15 months old when she wouldn't leave my side. She settled very quickly into her days there and in that time we have seen her blossom into a confident, happy and chatty little lady. She is always happy to see Michelle in the mornings and Michelle is always brilliant at keeping us updated on her days with her, through photos during the day and chats at the end of the day. They always have busy days, visiting toddler groups and the parks around the area. Our daughter loves Michelle, her family and all the other children she spends the day with there and we couldn't be happier.
