About Me
Hello,
I am a single parent to a lovely girl who is eleven and a half years old. We live in a large bungalow which has easy parking and is in a very quiet close in Quorn. We have 6 cats and are hoping to set up a swimming pool over the Summer.
I am in a wheelchair and my complex health conditions mean I am unable to work and I am currently struggling to provide a fun, stimulating environment with engaging activities for my daughter. This saddens me deeply because although I have the skills, space and resources to create a wonderful child friendly home, I don't have the health to be able to do so right now. I am a qualified Primary School teacher and in the past I have also worked as an Athlete Mentor supporting disadvantaged and disengaged children so I am happy to provide additional support and input.
My daughter is very bright, loves animals, making things and being active. She is on the autistic spectrum and has sensory processing difficulties which make it difficult for her to cope with public spaces and too much noise. Although she is bright enough to be in mainstream education, the environment was too challenging for her so she had to move to a specialist school. At home, when she feels safe and comfortable, she enjoys to interact with others and her difficulties are often not apparent.
My Requirements
I am looking for someone who loves children and who wants to help create a fun, stimulating environment and opportunities for them to play and learn in. The ideal candidate is someone who is able to work both individually and as part of a team, who enjoys a challenge, has lots of energy and ideas, is creative and able to work to a high standard.
- You should be prepared to roll up your sleeves and to pitch in at all levels, helping out both practically and with childcare.
- Driver preferred (having your own car is not essential but experience of driving an automatic car is a bonus).
- Ideally candidates will have experience of working with children who are on the autistic spectrum but this is not essential.
Work available immediately. Can be flexible in terms of days and working shift pattern. Please get in touch if you would like to know more.
