Hello, my name is Sophie Carter. I am Level 3 qualified in Childcare. In the 2 years I was studying I had placements in nurseries and schools with children aged between 3 months - 8 years old. I am currently looking after a 2 year old boy. I prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner for him, plan activities, attend a different playgroup every day, go on outings (zoo, park, play centres), change nappies and do some housework relatated to the little boy. I have looked after babies from the age of 8 weeks old and I have 4+ years experience. I've worked with many families with children ranging from 8 weeks old to 10 years old. I am very reliable, trustworthy and create a fun, loving and safe environment for all children. I have a clean DBS, a full clean driving license, I am first aid trained, Epi pen trained and I am ofsted registered. I have 5 families that would be happy to give references.
I have a lot of enjoyment working with children, watching them learn and grow and building bonds. It feels very rewarding!
My Experience
When I was doing my childcare course I was placed in schools and nurseries which ranged from ages newborn - 8 years old. I supervised them, planned activities and done observations, played with them, fed and changed them. I also worked in Lexden Lodge Kindergarten in Colchester in 2016 in the 1-2 year olds room doing the same things as above. I'm very reliable, flexible, trustworthy and will always make sure every child's needs are met.
My Qualifications
I have a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare. When I did my GCSE's I got a B/C grade in double Health and Social Care, C in Maths, A* in Business Studies, B in ICT and a C in English.
I am paediatric first aid trained and have a card and certificate approved by Ofsted.
I am Epi pen trained.
I have a full clean driving license.
My Availability
I am available for part time or full time nannying and babysitting.

My two children love Sophie, who looked after them two evenings a week and for a while two days a week. Sophie is reliable and played beautifully with them. She took them to the swings and slides, sang 'let it go', face painted, played playdoh, played shops, made dens, etc etc. She helped them with their meals and bathed them, got them ready for bed and read their bedtime stories. She even had an app on her phone to help them brush their teeth properly. Unfortunately for us Sophie got a full time job and we moved house so she couldn't cover the evenings any more.
