My Summary
About Me
I am enthusiastic, caring and nurturing who absolutely loves the job that I do. I love watching children grow within their development especially when I know I can help them achieve new goals with each day. Having a baby myself has taught me a lot about day to day life being a parent. This proves that I’m more than just a childcare practitioner because I know how much you adore your little ones and knowing your children are in safe and capable hands will help put your mind at ease.
My Experience
When attending college I had three different placements. One of which was a nursery where I was offered a job as bank staff on my first day of attending and worked there for a year. The second placement was a primary school where I attended for around 6 months and then spent a little amount of time working in a special needs school. I have also been a loyal babysitter for a women with two children aged 2 and 3 where I worked there for just over two and a half years.
After becoming a Level 3 Childcare Practitioner, I moved to New Malden where I worked for a childminder as their Assistant. I really enjoyed my time there as I learnt about the EYFS framework and how to implement this into a child’s life by supporting each child in their learning journey by working with them 1:1 to ensure they were getting the most out of their time there. Also I learnt how to plan activities and adapt my practice to ensure that every child could get involved and throroughly enjoy their new experiences. The reason for leaving was because of the distance as I wanted to find somewhere closer to home which is where I found my next job in a lovely nursery called “Aspire Day Nursery” in Surbiton.
Whilst attending Aspire I really progressed in my career as this is where I made very strong relationships with both children and their parents aswell as completing a First Aid training course to then later on become a Room Leader for the toddler room. I absolutely adored this nursery as I really excelled at writing observations on my key children making sure that I spent time with them on a 1:1 basis learning more about them each day. I enjoyed taking on more responsibility and got a real taste of what it was like to run my own room and creating a team which worked together to ensure all the children were exceptionally cared for by carrying out routines, writing observations and linking them to the EYFS aswell as planning activities around this to make sure that every child was getting the most out of nursery life. Becoming a Room Leader whilst pregnant was a big achievement to me as being chosen boosted my self confidence and I proved that I was more than capable to take on more responsibility as my manager recognised how much I enjoyed my job and how much I wanted to be the best childcare practitioner I could be.
My son was born in April 2017, and this was the best moment in my life as I could take what I had learnt from previous roles and really implement them into his life. I adore my little boy and living the life as a mother has really made me understand the importance of building a trusting relationship as all you want for your children is the very best. I can promise you that this is what I will provide as I want you to feel comfortable leaving your child and knowing they are in safe hands.
