My daughter, Aurelia, started with Tina shortly after she turned 1 year old in 2020. Tina was very supportive and helpful in the lead up to Aurelia starting with her, and helped plan a phased start - probably more beneficial for me as her Mum then for Aurelia, her being my first child and me having trouble separating from her to return to full-time work. Tina was so nurturing for both of us, and reassured us with photos texted throughout the day as well as message updates. Aurelia can have a very reserved and timid nature, and it took her a few months’ to settle into the new routine and Tina was so accommodating in guiding her through this. We got to see Aurelia flourish in Tina’s environment, most particularly in Aurelia’s speech development, followed by counting and followed by learning the alphabet. Tina is very organized, and communicates any changes to schedules clearly, provides invoices consistently, keeps up to date with all the necessary training and paperwork that helps to put parents at ease and in the know. Tina provides a variety of activities and environments to nourish children’s eagerness to play, learn and explore safely; she has set up an amazing number of educational toys and games in her home as well as a wonderful playground in her garden. Aurelia had the opportunity to spend time with children of all ages from Tina’s home as well at the various play groups that Tina enrolls in. Tina also varies her activities with the children partaking in things such as cooking for Pancake Tuesday, visiting different playgrounds and wooded trails in the local area, along with trips to a local zoo, and using public transport including buses and trains. Tina used her extensive knowledge and experience to support Aurelia’s development to transition from her child-minding setting into a school environment; teaching Aurelia how to use the potty and then toilet, washing her hands, dressing herself with shoes and jacket from a very young age and encouraging her to feed herself. Despite Aurelia’s reticence to change, she thrived in the local nursery due to this preparation. Tina’s home setting allows the children to interact with her family, and Aurelia got to know Tina’s husband Dave and son Alfie as part of her normal daily life which fostered a lovely friendship. My husband and I have been so pleased with how well Aurelia has been supported, nurtured and developed by Tina that we kept her with Tina all the way up to Aurelia starting Reception and now our second daughter, Isabel has also started with her from the age of 1 as well.

My son, Jani, started with Tina when he turned 1 year old, in Jul 2021. From the beginning the communication with Tina was easy and straightforward. We have visited Tina’s setting prior Jani started with her and she clearly communicated and explained how she works and what she needs from us. We knew from that point that we have chosen the right person to care for Jani. She put our minds at ease with her regular messages and pictures where we could see Jani is doing well and is happy while at her setting and spending time with her. She spends lot of time outdoors at different playgrounds which is in line with what we have wanted for Jani to do. She also takes kids to different play groups where they play with different toys and meet other kids. Saying that Tina has a whole room full of toys at home for different children’s ages including lot of educational toys. She supported Jani with learning his alphabet and his counting. While at her settings he learned many new words and started to put sentences together. This was very important for us as we speak different language at home. She taught him how to put on his coat and shoes and other daily usuals and necessities. She regularly takes kids to dance and movement classes, cooking classes, ZOO and multi-sports classes, which is amazing as Jani has got not only to experience different settings and met different kids but also learned something new every time. Jani has absolutely loved going to Tina’s, playing with other kids and also her son Alfie, who always had time for Jani. Jani absolutely adores Tina’s husband and always talks about him at home
In summary Tina has made everything easy for us from the beginning to the last day and taught Jani many life and academic skills. Therefore, I would highly recommend her for anyone that is looking for a childminder. In fact, I will be booking her services again if we are lucky enough to have another child. We had to move Jani to nursery from Aug 23 as we needed a care for Jani until 6pm every day and Tina works only until 4pm and doesn’t work Fridays. Two months on and he is still asking to go to Tina & Dave.
