About Me
I have some availability during the day… currently Tuesdays and Fridays, plus available every evening, whoever books first gets it, although you can book as far ahead as you’d like. Available for one offs but ideally prefer regular bookings where I can get to know the children , and they me!!
I am 53 yrs old and gave up a career in teaching as a Headteacher a few years ago. I found the paperwork etc overtook everything else and I rarely had time to spend with children, which is what I love to do. I had my own craft business for a few years but now work purely as a babysitter/nanny. This allows me to enjoy the company of children again plus more flexible hours as I support different families at different times as needed.
I like spending time with children of all ages.....cuddling babies, playing peekaboo, singing songs, reading books to toddlers, helping primary age children with homework, playing board games, or just chilling and relaxing with older ones.

My Experience
I have had 10 years teaching experience from newborns at Nursery through the Primary age range. I was then a Headteacher for 10 years. I took my first school from satisfactory to good, and my second school had outstanding status throughout my time there. One of the schools I led also had a daycare nursery attached which I managed. It took children from 3 months old and we received a good Ofsted report. (When all the paperwork got too much, staff would find me playing in the baby room to relax!!)
Prior to this, as a student and then newly qualified teacher, I babysat in my home town of Bristol, and was a nanny and mothers help in the holidays, including looking after newborns which was just gorgeous! I was also a Brown Owl, and ran a youth club for 10-16yr olds.
I have extensive experience of children with a wide range of special needs, including emotional and behaviour needs as well as learning and physical/sensory needs.
I have gained lots more experience with newborns and very young children over the past 2 years, including weaning and working as a night nanny.
I currently have a few families who I babysit for once or twice a month, but am looking for some more. I would prefer regular sitting as I can then get to know the children and build a relationship with them, but I am also available for one off, short notice jobs.
I am happy to meet you and your child/children prior to becoming a regular sitter as I think this is fairest on the children. However, if you need me at short notice, I would always arrive 10-15 minutes early so I can discuss routines, favourite toys, comforters, any medical issues etc with you before you leave. I also always text when your child/children are settled down for the night so you have peace of mind on your night out.

My Availability
I am available most days and evenings,both in the week and weekends.
I don't have a problem with late nights.....I'm a bit of a night owl myself!
I can also do overnight stays if that is required.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £12.00 per hour
- Nannying from £14.00 per hour (gross)
£12 an hour for evening bookings.
£14 an hour for daytime bookings.
£16 an hour if 4 or more children .
Minimum 4 hours per booking.
Fees to be negotiated for special dates such as New Years Eve, Valentines etc.

As soon as I met Charley, I knew my little one was in safe hands. At 7 months old, I was anxious at the thought of leaving her with a babysitter for the first time, but Charley arranged to meet us beforehand and filled me with confidence that they would be fine, and they were! Her communication was great throughout (tailored to my preferences) and I really enjoyed my evening out. Then, to top it all off, I came home to a peacefully sleeping baby. Absolute magic

Charley is a great babysitter and I highly recommend her. She is bubbly and lively. My daughter has such fun with her. She is professional and reliable, cooks dinner, did homework, played out. Is flexible when I was running late, always turns up on time. I felt my daughter is in safe hands. She updated me as well. Will only use Charley when I need babysitter. Recommended her to my brother too.

Charley looks after my boys whenever my husband and I have our ‘date night’.
She truly is a gem and myself and my husband are so pleased we found her, after waiting 7 years from when we had our first son, to finally arrange for a babysitter. Both my boys really look forward to when Charley comes which is down to how caring, warm and understanding she is. All the things that I usually do with my boys Charley does without hesitation. There have been a couple of times when I have left the house worrying about something, usually one of the boys being upset but Charley always texts to reassure me that everything is fine- which to me shows that she can manage these situations well. My youngest son recently had a night terror and Charley managed it really well, getting him back to sleep soundly.
Considering all of Charley’s credentials, as well as her performance, her hourly rate is very very fair!
*Thank you Charley for giving the husband and I that much needed time together as a couple, with the reassurance that our boys are well looked after- we really appreciate you :)

I found Charley through the website and was interested in her doing some evening babysitting for us. Our regular childminder then became ill after an operation and Charley agreed to do two full days of childcare at short notice. She came and met our boys (aged 1 and 2 ) the day before she was looking after them and provided excellent references from people who I spoke to the same day. She was punctual, brilliant with the boys and kept me updated whilst I was at work. We are so pleased to have found her and we look forward to using her babysitting services a lot in the future!

Thank you so much for the lovely review! Your boys are TOTALLY gorgeous! Never met brothers who are (very nearly!) always happy and cheerful, and they get on so well! It really is a pleasure spending time with them, whether we stay in playing, painting etc, or go out to the park or for walks. I hope I get to look after them for years to come so I can see them growing up! I'm always excited when I see you name pop up in my diary and know it's nearly time to visit!

Charley has been looking after our daughter Clarys over the last 6 months on several occasions when we go out on Saturday evenings but also when she had chicken pox and was not allowed to go to nursery.
It is lovely to see how their relationship has progressed over the last months. Clarys is really looking forward to the evenings when Charley comes home to look after her. She really has a great time playing with Charley.
Charley is also really professional and has a lot of experience with children.
I am extremely happy to recommend her as a babysitter.
