About Me
Hello I’m Miranda and I am an Ofsted registered Childminder with a Good rating in July 22 .
I am a happily married, mummy, i have two beautiful older children, and a very silly dog.Buzz lightyear ! ???
My setting is a home from home environment, your children become part of my family, i have a safe and completely enclosed back garden that we use on dry and wet days.
I have a love for being outside! I am a member of the Forest Childcare Association, and i have an NVQ childcare qualification.
I attend various toddler groups as i feel , this helps all my little ones learn how to socialise, and develop friendships outside of our little family circle.
We love going out and about on our own but we also do go with other childminders to all kinds of places!
We stay local and go to Haldon forest, Mamhead, Stover to feed the ducks and partake in some pond dipping, Bovey Parke, Canonteign and also Dartmoor to find the ponies.
We enjoy walking to our local play parks or going through the local fields and forests and playing in the streams.
World of country life is always a favourite to see all the different animals, as is Paignton zoo, Powderham Castle and we do occasionally go on trips on the local trains and buses to the Beach, they love this adventure, and i have photos of these on my page please see link below
We can also go a little further afield to the donkey sanctuary, plymouth aquarium, and to various other farms to see their animals.
If it's a wet weather day we put on our wet weather clothing and go muddy puddle jumping, or we can just stay in and bake cakes, biscuits, bread, soups etc or just have fun with messy crafts.
I have a very silly but loving dog he’s called Buzz Lightyear and is 14 years old. He is normally kept outside in his run, which is at the side of the house and is fully enclosed, he absolutely loves the children, and enjoys them throwing his ball for him,( to be honest he’s not great at bringing them back but we have fun finding them again!) but we only do this if it is agreed with all parents before hand.
I have my own vehicle and have all the relevant business use insurance.
My Experience
I have over 20yrs experience working with children of various ages, but in particular from 1month to 3 years. I hold a Childcare NVQ, Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding Children Level 3, Food Safety level 2, S<P, i’m a member of Forest Childcare Association, and have done various other courses, I have also have experince with autism.
Before becoming a childminder I worked at Chudleigh's local pre-school/rising 5s, and i also did some training/worked at the local Daisy Chain nursery.
I attend different courses regularly to keep myself up to date.
My Qualifications
Paediatric First aid, NVQ in childcare, Introduction to Childcare Practice, Food Safety, Safeguarding Children Level 3, Speech and language therapy diploma , AXs01 Introduction to integrated working and lots of various other training.
I attend training courses regularly to keep up to date with all the current legislation
My Availability
I work Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday 8am -5pm

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
I am a registered funded childminder i accept the funding for 9month, 2, 3 year olds please talk to me about the funding if this is what you require, and I can also take all childcare vouchers etc.
