My Summary
About Me
I currently work full time as a Specialist Sensory Support Assistant, supporting children with hearing/visual impairments in mainstream settings. Monday-Friday 9am until 4pm.
I am a caring, loving and trustworthy person. I'm easy to get along with and love building a great bond with both the children and family. Both inside and outside of work I am an loo organised, tidy and clean person. I love planning different activities whether it is outdoors or inside getting creative and messy.
I have had the experience of working with children 0-4 years during my 4 years working in a private nursery.
In September 2014 I started nannying with 2 children now aged 8 and 9 years old. I now look after 3 children aged 2, 6 and 8. The youngest child has cerebral palsy.
I also do childminding on evenings and occasionally day time.
I drive.
My Experience
In September 2010 I started working in a private nursery as a Nursery Assistant. I worked in all of the rooms within the nursery, each room having a different age group. To do this I had to be able to pick up the daily routines and carry out procedures to an excellent standard. Each group has different a routine. I worked well with all the staff, picking up instructions quickly and using my initiative when necessary. In July 2012 I gained my Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development and in August 2012 I was given a permanent contract with Jesmond Nursery. In August 2012 I began working in the baby room (0-12 months) and in August 2013 moved up to the next room working with slightly older babies (12-16 months). I enjoy the variation of activities I am able to carry out with the different aged children. I also take the lead role when we have cover staff working with us. I have a group of key children and enjoy building strong and positive relationships; not only with the children but the parents, passing on information and general chat about the children. I keep up to date files on each of my key children, monitoring their progress in picture and written observations which are completed each month. Each year we have two parents’ evenings. Parents are able to talk to me about their child and look at the children’s files.
I began nannying in September 2014 caring for a now 8 and 9 year old. This included school runs, preparing meals, taking children to their usual clubs and after school activities.
Since September 2015 I have worked with another family the children are aged 2, 6 and 8 years old. I plan activities both during the day with the youngest child (who has cerebral palsy) this includes attending various Physio classes. I do school drop off and pick up for the older siblings, take them to any activities and plan outings and activities for after school.
I have recently completed a Paediatric First Aid training course and other essential training such as safeguarding children and equality and diversity.

I recently met Natalie as she applied for the nanny position I had advertised. Eventually I decided to go with a nanny who already knows my family however I really liked Natalie after meeting her and I think she would be an excellent nanny for a family. Natalie is very professional and had done her research on the job and the area where I live. She is also a very warm and friendly person and clearly loves working closely with children. I hope to keep in touch with Natalie and wish her all the best for the future.
