Hi!! I am Donna and I created Little Parrots Childminding over a decade ago with my mum Maureen who, although now retired, still likes to pop in and keep in touch with the wee ones!
I'm married and have 2 amazing daughters aged 15 and 9 which keeps things interesting!! Having struggled with childcare with my eldest daughter, I realised when pregnant again that I could solve my own childcare problems along with other peoples.
We are a close loving family who always try to have lots of fun with the wee ones through play, art, music etc and any children coming to us would be treated as one of the family.
I work from my home, situated across from Wishaw General Hospital, with access to local parks, library and soft play.
The garden is enclosed for outdoor play and we have a playroom with various toys, books, games, arts/craft material etc. I believe kids learn so much through play and really helps development so they are encouraged to choose different games and toys every day to help with their learning.
Each child has their own diary which gives parents an idea of what's been happening in their child's day - activities, naps, food and always a funny story!!
I am a member of the SCMA (Scottish Childminding Association), have completed the SCMA Childminding Induction Course and registered with the Care Inspectorate. I also hold St Andrews Paediatric First Aid certificates, PVG disclosure, Introduction to GIRFEC and Child Protection certificates.
I am registered to care for children aged from birth until 16 years old. However most of the little ones I've cared for have been under 5.

Donna and Maureen are amazing! They have cared for my daughter for well over a year now (since she turned 1 year old) and she absolutely loves them. As I work full time, I wanted a reliable service, with secure surroundings, but also a friendly, fun, relaxed environment - and we got so much more. My daughter has thrived with them, she talks about them constantly and misses them so much when we are off on holiday. You can tell they are a close, loving family and they encourage this with all the children they look after, as every child is treated the same way. Can't recommend Donna and Maureen highly enough!
