About Me

I am a 28 year old Irish Nanny with a BA (Hons) Childhood Studies and Advice, Guidance and Counselling, as well as live-in Nanny experience with various age groups, including <12 months. I have worked in nurseries for the past 6 years, as an Early Years Teacher and Deputy Manager. I have extensive qualifications beyond my degree, including Early Years Teacher Status, and Level two in Understanding Autism. I consider myself to be fun, bubbly, light, happy and proactive. I pride myself on working hard and feeling accomplished at the end of every day. I have a firm but fair attitude to discipline, and spend a lot of energy ensuring children have a safe and nurturing environment to play, learn, grow and explore!

My Experience

Sept 2012 – July 2013 Live- In Nanny, Birmingham, UK.

Responsible for the care, safety, well-being and development of one child, a boy aged 6 years old. My role included morning and afternoon school runs, preparation of all meals, independent planning of activities and day trips, completion of homework and daily development of reading, occasional bed/bath routine. In addition I also cared for two large dogs, including walking and feeding twice daily, as well as various other pets. This role was both sole and shared care. I was successful in implementing his daily routine and helping him to grow, learn and develop both emotionally and educationally.


Additional Duties:

• Occasional full weekend of sole charge care/ Proxy parenting
• Planning and supervision of play dates and social events
• Household duties, including child’s laundry, family ironing, general cleaning, hoovering and polishing as well as responsibility for child’s bedroom and play areas.
•Ensuring child received well balanced, nutritional diet
•Disciplining the child when needed

Jan 2011 – June 2011 Teachers Aid (Student placement), Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK.

Responsible for shared, supervised care of Year 3 students in a primary school setting. My role included; identifying and helping any student who needed assistance with classroom activities, working one on one with students who lacked concentration or experienced difficulty following the lessons, creating new ways to captivate the attention of children with concentration issues, supervising recreation, generally aiding the classroom teacher.

Documenting children's progression and development for analysis by teachers and parents alike.

July 2013 – July 2014 Live-in Nanny, London, UK.

Responsible for sole care of two boys, aged 2 years old and 10 months old upon my undertaking of the position. This position included full responsibility for children's dietary needs, emotional, physical, and social development, international travel with the family, occasional proxy parenting, guiding the youngest child through milestones such as learning to walk and talk, and transitioning to solid foods, teaching the eldest child phonics and basic writing skills, teaching both children correct table manners, general manners and disciplining the children in a firm but fair manner when necessary, organizing play dates and classes in order to stimulate both children and their different age related needs, children's laundry, light housework, setting and following a structured routine.
