Hello there! I'm Hazel Symonds. A big welcome to Hazel's Childminding. A safe, secure, happy environment for your child to learn through play and have plenty of opportunity to explore and most importantly have fun!
My house is well situated within a couple of minutes walk to the local library where children can enjoy rhyme time and other small group activities which we head to weekly for rhyme time and craft session, we also venture to Rainbows, a toddler group once a week, to enable children to enjoy a large range of play and activities at different places. Which helps massively with confidence and self esteem. We also have local parks and lovely walks to feed the ducks, visit the horses and many more beautiful places to get our wellies on and get muddy! Enjoying the great outdoors, our days are so varied and full of variety.
The local children's centre is within a few minutes walk enabling children to mix with larger groups! At home we have a large enclosed garden with lots of outdoor play equipment such as sandpits, balls, bikes, play houses. A good variety for all children to enjoy! Inside again has a large space with plenty of educational toys and games and of course plenty of arts and crafts which will involve lots of messy play!

I follow the EYFS closely and have great understanding of this. Tracking children's development and looking at how I can further them, providing opportunities to help them achieve and support them where I need to. This will involve many opportunities to learn through fun stimulating play. Following their interests and seeing where it takes us! I'm a firm believer children will enjoy and gain lots from what they enjoy this will keep them motivated and happy to learn!


A healthy diet is important and will be provided and promoted on a daily basis.
I will work with parents if children have dietary requirements .

Building a strong relationship with a child involves lots of time getting to know them and working with parents to find out as much information about them so I can provide many fun filled days based around their interests! I offer settle in sessions at the start of our journey so I can build up a positive relationship with the child so they feel safe, secure and familiar with my setting before they officially start! This all helps and contributes to a smooth transition.

Parents views and thoughts are important to me I consider parents "partners" in their child's learning and development.This is why I have good communication and ask for parents feedback regularly, with this parents have stated how happy, settled and content their children are in my care and how happy they feel regarding the service I provide!

I recently had my Ofsted inspection April 2019 and received a GOOD in all areas! Aswell as a GOOD in July 2016!


Overall children will always be encouraged to have fun and explore their surroundings by many activities to take part in, my aim is to provide a fun filled day for every child to learn, grow and thrive in!
