My Summary
About Me
Last few spaces available at Fleur Welham Childminding
I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder living in Felixstowe. I am highly dedicated to my career and have obtained a BA Honours Degree in Early Years, my highest qualification to date.
I offer childcare to all families with children aged from birth upwards.
I am also an experienced Mum and practitioner with extensive knowledge of child development.
I am Ofsted rated Good.
About us:
The children in my care have access to a wide range of toys and resources indoors and out. I encourage children to explore and decide their own learning which I build upon to extend their knowledge. All of the children in my setting confidently access toys and resources for themselves, carefully supported by me.
Love and kindness is the order of the day here! All the children in my care are taught kindness and 'gentle hands' which enables them to respect one another and develop firm friendships with other children.
I work over three rooms in my house, which includes a purpose built playroom for my minded children. The playroom has direct access to our own dedicated garden where we play and grow veg and fruits.
In the kitchen/diner we eat and prepare snacks and meals together and bake biscuits and cakes.
In the lounge we create a mini cinema for quiet time with child sized sofas. We watch one our favourite Julia Donaldson short films or The Hungry Caterpillar, making sure screen time is still educational.
Children have their own bedding which is washed regularly, we listen calm and relaxing music which sends most children to sleep in minutes.
Our playroom is warm and inviting with named pegs for every child. I supply waterproof coats, trousers or all-in-ones for all children.
I prefer to use wooden toys and resources, but some plastic toys, such as measuring jugs and containers for water and messy play outside. Our dedicated garden has a Belfast sink with running water so children can play and explore and extend their learning.
Things I offer:
Included in my fees are all toddler groups, activities, snacks and outings.
Places we go:
I have a Mercedes-Benz Vito with conference style setting which means every child travels rear facing. I use and maintain my own car seats and have a pushchair big enough for all the children I have each day.
I have good relationships with other Childminder's in our area and we regularly meet up for toddler groups or play dates.
Toddler groups, local farms, such as, Jimmy's Farm, Hollow Trees and Birch Farm. We also go to the Beach, Library, Local Parks, Castles and Museums.
What we do:
Messy play such as, painting, gloop, slime, water play, sensory play etc. I have large trays on stands for the children to explore messy play.
I also supply every child in my setting with a 'Book Bag' and 'Reading Record Book' in order to borrow books from my setting to share at home.
My Experience
I work with regards to the very high standards of The Early Years Curriculum; The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and have qualifications and experience in observing and assessing children's individual needs for future development; keeping up to date with how I deliver my curriculum is important to me and I strive to provide toys and resources that support me to do so.
My experience:
I have worked in various settings and capacities with children since 2006. I worked my way up to Nursery Manager before leaving nursery life to open my own childcare business.
I also have experience in working with children who have Special Educational Needs, such as, Autism, Global delay, ADHD and Dyslexia.

Our daughter has been coming to Fleur since November 2021. From the moment we met Fleur we knew our daughter would be in safe hands. She has taken Emilia on multiple days out, encouraged her speech and development, helped her grow in confidence and has always been there for advice when we've needed it (she has a fountain of knowledge on early years development which has been priceless). We love that we've been kept up to date on what they get up to so we never feel like we are missing out on experiences. Highly reccomend!
Fleur has been extremely accommodating and friendly throughout our journey looking for childcare. My son is very much looking forward to spending time with Fleur as are we.
