Former Teaching Assistant for many years. I have paediatric first aid qualification and enhanced DBS.
In my spare time; I enjoy spending time with friends and family, especially my nephew. I love long walks in the countryside or by the sea, swimming, yoga and ‘crafty’ things! I love to cook and have an interest in nutrition and healthy eating.
My Experience
I am a qualified Teaching Assistant, have an updated Paediatric First Aid qualification and have also completed a course in Home Based Childcare Services. I have worked with children in both KS1 and KS2. I’ve also volunteered as a Playroom Assistant for a local charity for children with additional needs (pre-school). I have looked after my nephew every week since his birth, in order for my sister to have some respite. He is now 8 years old and about to start a special school, due to a complex chromosome disorder and learning disability.
I have also previously worked for the NHS for 5 years in Health Promotion.
My Qualifications
Level 3 qualification in Teaching and Learning in schools - needed to become a TA
Level 3 qualification in Paediatric First Aid
Level 3 qualification in Home based childcare services - needed to become a Child Minder
Level 1 in British Sign Language and also completed an introductory course in Mankaton
Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care from The Open University
