My Summary
About Me
I am and have always been excitedly engaged in providing the best childcare possible. As a qualified childcare provider I am able to plan fun, imaginative and safe activities for your child with guidance from the EYFS and National Curriculum which will help encourage your child's develop.
In my spare time I love swimming at the local pool, reading and catching up with my best friend via Skype. I also love arts and crafts and am a massive Film geek, I especially love Disney! Having been born and raised in the beautiful coast/countryside of Northumberland I enjoy long walks through the countryside, biking and fishing. Furthermore, My enthusiasm for the great outdoors transpires within my work as I encourage, even the most addicted to technology children, to maximise their outdoor surroundings, through promotion of outdoor play in all weathers.
I am a qualified nanny and unfortunately will not consider baby sitting or child minding roles.
I am currently working in a residential children's home offering emotional support and care for the most challenging and damaged of children.
My Experience
Previously I have been employed as a nanny to look after twin boys. During my time there I used the EYFS to monitor and record their progress. One of my greatest joys of this job has been the major part I have played in their development, I have planned and implemented activities and witnessed first had the impact these activities have had on the boy’s continued development. With my help they have transformed from 22 month old babies that could not talk; into independent little boys who can speak using sentences and eat unaided using cutlery. Watching the children grow and develop and knowing that I have supported the family, whilst also proving to myself I can work independently is one of my greatest achievements to date, both personally and professionally. My favourite part of working with children is implementing fun and imaginative ways for them to learn, I believe this is my strongest area and I am able to let my creative personality flourish. At times working with three siblings unsupervised, within their home environment was challenging however my passion to make a difference along with my ability to remain patient has enabled me to provide a caring learning environment. I have loved every second of the past year and I can’t wait to start my new venture.
