About Me

Hi there, I'm Gillian and I live with my fiancé and 2 gorgeous daughters (ages 4 and 3 months) in Gotterstone/Broughty Ferry, a nice quiet area close to Dawson Park just off the Arbroath Road.

I'm ex military and have an honours degree in adult community nursing but decided to follow my passion and become a childminder which allows me to care for other people's children as well as my own.

I am a certified Forest Childcare Provider with the Forest Childcare Association. I've a love for the outdoors and am greatly inspired by the forest nursery movement. A natural outdoor learning environment has been found to improve children's social skills as well as their physical and emotional development and well being. It gives them a greater understanding of the world they live in and a greater appreciation of nature. I strongly believe that children should spend as much time as possible outside whatever the weather so cosy clothes and welly boots will be essential!

At 'Gillian McRobbie: All Weathers Childminding' your little one will spend the majority of their time in their wellies and waterproofs exploring the beach, local woods, country parks and places such as the Sidlaw Hills. We will go puddle jumping, do mud painting, run, jump, climb, have treasure hunts, play games, hunt for insects, learn about nature and make as much noise as possible! Fees include all drinks, snacks and meals so I will provide a healthy picnic/packed lunch when we are out with some nice hot chocolate or soup to keep us warm on chilly days. When we're at home I have plenty of toys, games, arts and crafts etc.

I am also currently converting my enclosed garden into an exciting play area complete with mud kitchen, balance/stepping stones and beams, a digging pit and natural resources that the kids can build dens with (to name a few) that will get big imaginations working as well as giving them plenty of exercise to tire them out!

I also offer a babysitting service when available. I am insured for up to 6 kids so why not get together with your friends while I look after your little monkeys? I will bring along arts and crafts and some baking ingredients to keep them amused which is included in the price.
