About Me
Hello, my name is Sophie, I am 30 years old and I live in Overton. I live with my partner, our 2 boys (5&10 years old). I have worked in childcare for 12 years but have had an extra two years of work experience placements whilst in college. I have experience in day nurseries, play groups, primary schools and my own childminding business.

I love watching children develop and love thinking of exciting ways to extend their learning. I have a particular interest in messy, creative and outdoor play. I also hold a full and clean UK driving license with my own car.
My Experience
After leaving school I went to Andover College and studied for two years to achieve my 'Childcare and Development Level Three'. During this time I completed work experience in two primary schools, a play group and a day nursery. At the end of my training the day nursery that I had previously completed work experience in offered me a job as a Nursery Nurse. From there, over the next two years, I went on to achieve promotions of 'Senior Nursery Nurse' and then 'Room Leader' of the baby room. I then went on maternity leave for seven months and returned accompanied by my son and decided it was time for a change. I then moved to another day nursery, again with my son, I was given a 'Nursery Nurse' role in a room with children aged 2-3 years. After just two months I was promoted to 'Second in Charge' this means I was supporting the Room Leader closely and helping run the room. I then moved on to be the room leader of the preschool room in our day nursery, I did this for a year and then ran the 2-3 year old room for 7 months. I’ve recently become a Nanny to two lovely children, I care for them before and after school.
In 2020 opened my own childminding business ‘Little Rainbows’ in Overton and was successfully running for 3 years. I had Ofsted out to register me and then had them come back for their usual visit of which went very well. I took children from 3 months up to 9 years. I regularly took the children to classes, toddler groups, exploring in the woods, I created wonderful activities to extend their learning and used all of my knowledge to help the children reach their next steps. I finished childminding due to a family business opportunity but thoroughly enjoyed those 3 years!
I am now looking for a role to fit between school hours and around my own children. Would absolutely LOVE to help with little ones whilst you get some rest!
