My Summary
About Me
I am a fully qualified Norland trained nanny with 8 years experience caring for children of ages 6 months - 11 years. I am currently looking after my own 3 year old daughter and I am looking for some part time work locally where I can bring Daya with me occasionally (if not I do have someone to care for her). I am unable to do school drop offs as I am looking for more hours than the odd hour in the mornings. If the work available is less than 3 hours at a time my rate will be £18 per hour to cover travel costs.
I am a fun, compassionate, friendly, honest, very reliable and hardworking nanny who loves caring for children. I have a great sense of responsibility and as such, work to provide a safe, healthy, stimulating and fun environment for the children in my care at all times. I am self-motivated and deal with challenging situations calmly and effectively. I believe that every child is unique, and I adapt my care with an open mind according to their needs and those of the family. I have travelled extensively and the exposure to different cultures and people during this time has given me a great deal of valuable life experience. I understand my role is to support families in order for the children to flourish.
I enjoy cooking in both my personal and professional life and I have proven throughout my career to prepare food for children of all ages with special dietary requirements while satisfying all of their nutritional needs. I am very interested in health and nutrition and am always reading and researching new ideas relating to this, I also love trying out new recipes!
I feel happiest when I am outside in nature and love outdoor activities, especially hiking. I am creative and spend a lot of my spare time doing painting and illustration and also enjoy reading and writing!
My Experience
December 2023 - Current
I currently care for a 7 month old boy locally to me in Wolverhampton. His mum is slowly starting to work again and requires me to care for her son while she makes work calls and pops out to the gym. My role includes all nursery duties as well as keeping the kitchen clean, doing laundry and cooking family meals a few times a week. I also take the baby to weekly classes including Baby Sensory and Hartbeeps and we spend lots of time going for walks and he especially loves the swings at the park.
May 2020 - May 2022 - Private Rota Nanny (permanent)
Before I had my daughter I was working in Mayfair looking after 8 year old twins. The position was 24/7 one week on one off, I worked opposite another nanny and with various other members of staff. The house was fully staffed and we all worked together as a team. My role was to be at home with one of the boys who has autism, he is home schooled and I looked after him during the day until his brother came home, then I cared for both of them. On the weekends we would go out for lunch altogether and then I’d plan an activity for us to do, this consisted of going to a park in London or the aquarium or seeing a show. I had a lovely bond with both boys and we all had lots of fun together and I miss them now I’m away! The position also consisted of lots of overseas travel.
March 2019 - March 2020 - Private Nanny (permanent)
I worked in Richmond looking after a baby girl who was 7 months old when I started and her older sister who was 5 years old. I spent most of my working day with the baby who was delightful, playful and had a wonderful sense of humour. We had a busy week where I would take her to various classes, including Gymboree and Monkey Music, we also went swimming every week and enjoyed story time at the local library. When the older girl was on school holidays I looked after both children most of the time but also I got to have some one to one time with the older child, I usually would take her to a theatre show in London or go on a play date with one of her friends. When we were altogether we spent as much time as possible outdoors. I created a weekly meal plan for both girls and cooked healthy food for them daily, I always cross referenced with the 5 year olds menu plan at school to make sure she was getting a balanced diet. This position included all general nursery duties.
July 2018 - February 2019 - Private Nanny (temporary)
I worked on a temporary basis for a wonderful family in Fulham while their permanent nanny took some personal time off for travelling. During this time I cared for a charismatic and very energetic 7 year old boy and his adorable and hilarious younger sister, who was 3 and a half years old at the time my contract finished. This position included all general nursery duties including some occasional dog walking for the family’s furry friend! When the children were at home for school holidays, I would organise exciting trips into central London to see various theatre shows, go to the museums and the aquarium or local trips to the park, whatever the weather. During term time my time with the children usually consisted of over-seeing homework, taking them both to various sports clubs, cooking them healthy meals and overseeing their bedtime routines. I had a great working relationship with the full-time housekeeper and we consistently worked together to ensure that everything ran smoothly in the household.
April 2018 - May 2018 - Private Nanny (temporary)
I looked after an intelligent and joyful 15 month old baby boy on a temporary basis in London while his mum was settling down in the country after moving here for her husbands work. The position was a mix of sole charge and shared care and required a lot of flexibility (from my part) with hours and weekend work due to the parents busy and ever changing schedules. A typical day in this role consisted of spending the morning in the park (weather dependent) or at the family club, Maggie & Rose, joining in with art, music or cooking classes. If we weren't out and about we were at home playing and relaxing or carrying out a planned activity. This position included all general nursery duties.
February 2018 - April 2018 - Private Nanny (temporary)
For two months I looked after an adorable little 3 year old girl sole charge in south west London. The role involved organising daily educationally based activities, school runs, cooking and planning healthy, well balanced-meals and all general nursery duties.
The little girl had a fantastically vivid imagination which made role play and imaginary play very fun and interesting. I always tried to involve this in the activities that I planned with her. For the time that I was with the family I managed to successfully sort out the potty training which they were having issues with and also succeeded in getting my charge to drink more liquids throughout the day - which had been an ongoing problem.
January 2018 - February 2018 - Private Nanny (temporary)
I looked after two very energetic, fun little boys of 5 and 6 years on a temporary basis for 6 weeks to cover the time between their new permanent nanny starting with the family. My duties included school runs, cooking healthy and well-balanced meals, overseeing homework, organising fun activities during the half term, general nursery duties, booking appointments for the boys and liaising with the school and their teachers. I also did occasional proxy parenting for the family.
August 2017 - December 2017 - Private Nanny (temporary)
I was working on a temporary basis in London for my previous employer looking after her little boy (who was 3 and a half at the time) sole charge. My duties included school runs, cooking healthy and well-balanced meals, putting him to bed and then staying over night as a proxy parent. If I looked after him on a weekend I would usually plan some fun activities to do together, these included trips to the theatre, swimming, going to the park or on occasion I organised a seasonal themed craft activity for him to do at home if the weather was particularly bad.
August 2016 – August 2017 – Private Nanny (full-time)
For a year I looked after a charming little boy who was 2 years old when I began the post. I lived in when I was on duty and as the mother’s schedule was very time consuming, I would be on duty overnight also. The little boy started pre-school the September after I left and I spent a lot of the year helping prepare him for that by enrolling him in lots of classes like Gymboree art, Gymboree play and learning, and various music classes. I felt this was important for him socially as well as getting him used to being in a classroom environment. When I first started, my charge was having a lot of problems sleeping through the night, after some changes to his sleeping environment and routines, he began successfully sleeping 7pm - 7am which his mother was very happy about. I also successfully potty trained him. His mother and I very much worked as a team and ensured that communication was open at all times between us regarding her son. My charge loved being outside more than anything so I made sure that we spent as much time as possible doing just that, we visited lots of parks, had picnics when it was sunny and he especially enjoys riding his balance bike. He also is very creative and musical, I always had music on in the house and we would dance and sing together daily! I thoroughly enjoyed my time with this family and was sad to say goodbye.
Sept 2013 – July 2016 - Private Nanny (part-time in term, full-time in holidays)
I met this family on my first college placement. I looked after a pair of playful twin girls, who were approaching 15 months at the commencement of post, and their bubbly sister who is one year older. I was responsible for planning all aspects of the daily care routine. When I arrived, I started working to improve the children’s routine. They were having trouble going down for a nap in the day due to it being very early at around 11am, so my new plan set lunchtime at noon and nap time at around 1pm. This seemed to work wonders and improved their moods and their appetites at lunch and dinner. I also planned meals that introduced more vegetables and was able to make a real difference to their diets. The older child was also successfully potty trained by me in the summer while I was working full time. I discovered that the girls enjoyed going on outings, so I built these into our daily activities; visiting the park, going out for lunch, and supermarket trips to learn about all the different types of fruits and vegetables. For home activities, I also helped sort out their garden with a tent and a sandpit, which they absolutely loved and spent lots of time playing with. I also often used my creativity and imagination to come up with games for them, such as potato printing, den making, and role-play, which they enjoy. They also particularly loved being read to, and this is something we spent a lot of time doing.
Various Dates - Private Babysitter (part-time)
Whenever my schedule allows, I babysit for various families in Surrey and London area. I love the variety and mystery of babysitting for different families, as you never know quite what to expect. I particularly enjoy jobs where the children are still awake when I arrive, and I get to go through their unique bedtime routines. This gives me different ideas and experiences, which I can apply to my work as a nanny.
