My Summary
About Me
Hi
My name is Dawn, I have been married for 32 years. We have 2 grown up sons, both very sporty.
We live in Norton Lees Sheffield.
I’am a very active person I enjoy walking, going to the gym regularly, running and have taken part in numerous 10K races for various charities.
I would describe myself as honest, reliable and trustworthy. I have a very caring manner, and love being around children, encouraging them to learn while having lots of fun. I plan exciting activities, and outings , and always inform parents of any successes or concerns.
I keep up to date with charges and developments in childcare and education.
I love being a nanny, I think it’s such a very special and rewarding job.
My Experience
I have over 35 years experience, caring for children. First as a nanny for 2 families in Dore Sheffield. Taking care, and attending to the daily needs of the children aged 1 to 12 years old.
I loved being part of a family unit.
Then for 18 years I was a registered childminder, looking after children between 4 months and 14 years old. A role which I loved while bringing up my 2 boys. The children became part of our family, and formed great friendships with my 2 boys.
While in my care, the children had the opportunity do exciting activities, go on outings ,go to playgroups providing the opportunity to interact with other children.
I still keep in touch with the children and parents becoming close friends with them.
In August 2015, I was a nanny for a family of Doctors in Ecclesall, caring for their 2 children aged 4 and 18 months. Due to the professions of the parents, I was very flexible In Working hours and days of work.
I loved being part of the family, my duties included caring and attending to their daily needs, school runs, playgroups, play dates, going swimming, organising activities and outings, and generally having fun.
I left when the youngest started school. I still keep in touch them, seeing them often.
At the present time I’m working for a family of Doctors on Carten knowle Road.
Caring for their 2 children Aged 5 and 3. I’ve worked for the family for 2 and a half years. We have a great time, doing activities going on outings, taking them to school and playgroups.
Meeting up with other children and their families for play dates.
It’s very special to be a part of all children’s lives and see them grow into lovely young people.

Dawn has worked with our family for over two and a half years and I don’t really have the words to express what she has meant to our family.
Dawn is punctual, caring, professional and fun. She takes her job very seriously and always puts 100% into it. Our children adore her and she has, I feel, become an integral part of our family. When first recruiting nannies I was aware of some who boasted about the children calling them Mum and this worried me. One of the wonderful things about Dawn being in our lives is that I never felt insecure as a parent but I cherish the relationship she has built with our children.
In terms of commitment her work ethic is beyond doubt. She once came straight to work after a delayed flight from her holiday and I was frankly amazed that she did. During the COVID pandemic she has continued to work without fail and has homeschooled my son in an exemplary way, and certainly not a way I’m able to replicate!
I know some parents worry that a nanny takes away social interaction but our children have never been more sociable. They have made good friends and get lots of exercise and fresh air, going on little trips and keeping busy.
I could not have asked for better for our time in Sheffield and I hope when we move cities we find someone like Dawn.
Dawn was my child minder/nanny for 11 years, caring for both my boys from the ages of 3 months. Throughout the years Dawn proved to be fully committed to her role, providing continuous exceptional care. They were always happy, safe and secure in Dawns care and in all the time they were with her they were never once reluctant to stay with her. Dawn always provided exciting activities for the boys to do, took them places and as they got older ensured they had opportunities to attend playgroups and interact with other children.` Throughout the years she supported them in their development and learning, always keeping me informed of any successes or any concerns. Dawn was always supportive, reliable and willing to make any changes to her work hours to fit around my work. I always felt happy to leave my children with Dawn, knowing they would be loved and receive the highest level of care.
Although my boys are no longer in Dawns care due to them starting secondary school she keeps in very regular contact with them and they both miss her.
Dawn is confident in her role as a Nanny/child minder and has an extensive knowledge of child development. She keeps up to date with changes and developments in child care and education. She is familiar with EYFS curriculum and uses it to plan activities and make informed assessments of the children in her care. Dawn offers regular detailed feedback to parents, ensuring they are aware of any progress in their child’s development and learning. She is also confident to raise any concerns she may have so that these can be discussed and addressed.
On a personal level Dawn is reliable, honest and conscientious. She is always happy and her continuous positive approach to her work and life is an asset to the right family.
Dawn really is an outstanding Nanny/child minder and I would highly recommend her.
