About Me
We are a Professional working family living in a rural location just north of Piperspool, Launceston, Cornwall. We have two young children, a daughter (June 2011) and two sons (Sep 2013 & mar 2016). We are generally a very active, happy family who try to be outside as much as possible. Both our children are free range and full of mischief, who love getting covered in mud and generally making a mess.
Our daughter is a very independent mini princess / ballet dancer / gymnast who will over feed you with food she has ‘cooked’ in her kitchen before getting bored and moving onto her next activity. She is happiest when wearing a Disney princess dress halfway up a tree. She will be full time 9am-3pm at Altarnun primary school (approx 3 miles away), but may start having some after school clubs and activities in time.
Our son enjoys trying to do what ever his big sister is doing with varying degrees of success, and having cuddles and sympathy when he doesn’t quite succeed. He will be attending Altarnun Pre School 9am-3pm most days, but some afternoons he will be at home.
My Requirements
From march 2017 I will be working full time in Plymouth and my Husband will be working away most weeks.
We are looking for a Child minder / Nanny / Au Pair who:
• Doesn’t mind early mornings.
• CRB checked.
• Driving license – essential due to our rural location.
• Ideally (but not essentially, this can be negotiated for the right person) have their own car.
• Reliable – Reliability is crucial as we cannot be let down due to our work.
• Happy, energetic nature.
• Trustworthy as we will be leaving our most precious possessions in your care.
• Non smoker.
Our children are very adaptable and have undergone a fair bit of disruption in the past due to our work, but we are now looking for long term stability and want someone who can form a bond with our children and become a part of the family.
Hours will be 7am-9am including breakfast and the school drop off each morning, then school pick up and 3:30-5:30pm each evening, plus some earlies and lates (exact days to be confirmed). Additional full time hours will be required during the school holidays but we would want them to be involved in a range of activities during these periods. Occasional late evenings may be required, but these would be negotiated as and when. No anticipated need for any weekend work.
Experience with young children is more important to us than qualifications and ideally some wider life experience would be of benefit.
We are happy to consider someone who has their own child / children who would accompany them if the care was being provided at our home, especially if they where of similar age.
Any Au Pair should have a good standard of English, be self reliant and independent in nature as we are fairly isolated, they should enjoy the outdoors as we have easy access to the moors and the surfing beaches of the north Cornish coast.
