My Summary
About Me
I moved to Brizlincote Valley, Burton on Trent with my family a year ago after living in Central Bedfordshire for over 30years.
I am a happily married mum of 3 children. One has left home, one lives with us with his fiancé and baby daughter they have been Ofsted checked and have DBS’s. I also have a daughter who’s 14.
We are a friendly, non smoking family.
I have business insurance on my car insurance which enables me to drive your child/children safely around and will always make sure they are securely protected in the right seat.
I also have liability and home insurance for business use.
We have a budgie, hamster, 3 year old Cockapoo and my son’s dachshund.
My Experience
I had been a nanny for 20 years , but since having my daughter I decided to become a childminder.
I have looked after children of all ages from 10 weeks old to 18 years.
I'm first aid trained, CRB checked and have my N.N.E.B. I have been registered with ofsted as a childminder for the past 13 years.
I enjoy doing lots of activities with the children, and go to toddlers, childminding groups including the park, local farm and any other social activities.
I have a big garden with out door toys for the children to play and explore on.
I like to let children have lots of free play so they can use their imagination and explore their surroundings. It is important for children to learn through play making sure they are ready for school.
I will always make sure the children are happy and safe while in my care.
I also have an assistant (my husband) who has been checked through Ofsted and helped me a couple of days a week at our old house. He also has a DBS, Safeguarding and is Paediatric First Aid Trained.
My Qualifications

Our daughter started with Gail and Steve at 1 year old and was there until 2.5yo. Even though she is quite shy she quickly settled in, looking forward to going to play with the other children at the setting. There were always lots of activities like arts and crafts, outdoor play, reading, nursery rhymes and many different toys to play with. The environment became a home from home environment for her, where she really thrived. Gail was always very flexible where possible regarding pick up timings, food provided, swapping days around, which really made our lives easier. She was always very pragmatic around any sickness too which is quite different to some nursery settings. Thanks again :)
My son Lucas started with Gail when he was 5 months old. She made sure the settling process was a smooth as possible for me and Lucas. Since being with in gails Care he has been on so many days out to farms, soft plqy, toddler groups, cooking club. She also took them to local parks on a regular basis.
Gail has also given Lucas the best start in life with regards to his learning, Lucas is now 2 and I can have a full conversation with he has learnt so much in gails care and we are so sad to be leaving and really wish we could have stayed in gails care until full time school, the only reason for leaving it due to work and having to move to a different location.
I would strongly recommend Gail to anyone she truly is fantastic :)
My son started with Gail when he was 18 months. During that time he attended many outings with Gail and enjoyed them all. As my son was shy of large groups, Gail ensured she got to know and understand my son and knew how to reassure him, helping him become a very independent 2 year old.
Due to the lovely family feel of the setting my son constantly spoke about the close family members and we all thought of them as friends.
It is a shame we have had to leave this setting due to our house move. We wanted to take Gail with us!
It was lovely to know my son was visiting parks, shops, cookery clubs and farms rather than being in a nursery all day. He has had a lovely year.
