About Me

My name is Leanne Priestley (Barnes), I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder. Please contact me for any information.

I live with my husband and two daughters in Hyde. I am 39 years old and I have worked with children from being 18 years old in nurseries and schools. I have been a childminder since 2015 and enjoy using the knowledge and experience I have gained from working in schools and nurseries into my own home.

I have worked in both a school Nursery and Reception class, looking after and educating children aged 3-5 years old. Therefore, I have a working knowledge of the EYFS and the level that children need to begin their school life.

I run a home from home setting where the EYFS curriculum is the focus of my daily routine. In my setting I have a play area for the children to access all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage, including; role-play area, book area, playdough, sand area, small world and many more. I have an outdoor area for water play, gardening and mark-making.

I regularly attend childminding groups, children centres, tots groups, libraries, museums, parks and soft play centres as well as many others, where children have the opportunity to interact and socialise with other children on a larger scale.

I plan activities for the children based on their individual interests and their next steps. I complete learning journeys with parents to assess children’s learning and progress. We enjoy a wide variety of activities, including; baking, crafts, painting, mark-making, messy play, playdough, singing, stories, construction, music time, parachute games and more. We also enjoy more structured activities where children need support with Speech and Language development, as well as phonics activities, name recognition/writing, number/shape work and much more.
