My Summary

My Experience

I have worked for a number of families as a nanny on a live in basis. My first live in job was with two children in Holland (aged 18 months (G) and 5 years (G) ). I stayed with the family for 14 months and we're still in regular contact. I also had two other live in nanny roles during this period of time, both in London, where I supported families with 2 children each ages ranging from 2 years up to 9 years of age. In all of these jobs, duties included all aspects of child care (sole charge) and school drop off and pick ups for the older children. In these live in roles, I was in some ways 'part of the family', but boundaries were really important in terms of respecting one another's privacy. Alongside my live in roles, I have often supported families with more casual childcare on an ad-hoc basis e.g. evenings and weekends. I believe that trust and relationships are central to any working relationship, especially where children are involved. I have a passion for creativity and I love to bring fun to the children that I work with.

Following on from some voluntary work in Malawi, where I was based primarily in a nursery school, I decided to complete my teacher training. My experiences in Malawi, as well as all of my previous nannying work solidified my interest in working with children as a long term career. For for the past 6 years, I have been working as a full time primary school teacher. I have a passion for learning and discovering and this is something that I love to encourage in the little ones in my care. I recently left full time teaching to pursue my training as a children's play therapist. My current training fits wholly with my ethos of valuing 'the whole' child. I am searching for a role that fits alongside my therapy training, with a family that value the variety of experience that I have working with children.

Currently studying: Post Graduate Certificate in Therapeutic Play (building to an MA in Play Therapy)
PGCE Primary Education
Ba Hons Fine Art (1st class)
Level 2 Certificate in understanding adverse childhood experiences.
Full DBS certificate
Safeguarding qualifications
Full paediatric first aid

My Availability

I am really open and flexible to seeing what opportunities are out there, with a family that I 'match' well with and that feel I am a good 'match' for them. I am open to a part time nanny (live out) role, but also seeking ad hoc, flexible babysitting work with the aim of making connections with new families in the Nottingham area.

At the moment, during term time I am available Wednesday - Friday as well as weekends on a flexible basis.

During school holidays, I am available every day except Mondays :)

For the right family, there may be the option of moving my Monday and Tuesday commitments - this can be discussed :)

My Fees

• Nannying from £16.00 per hour (gross)
