About Me
My name is Jan Hanson I am an Ofsted registered childminder. I can offer trustworthy childcare in a homely safe environment. I want your child to feel happy and secure and my family will be friendly and welcoming. I live just off Preston Grove, close to Oaklands Primary school. I use my conservatory as a playroom which leads out on to a good sized child friendly garden. We have an area with artificial grass which enables all year round outside play. We have a mud kitchen and messy play area outside and a vegetable and herb garden which the children absolutely love! I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage guidelines required by Ofsted and will keep you advised of your child's progress whilst in my care. I have toys,equipment and activities suitable for all ages including babies. I am very much a home from home childminder and spend time playing both inside and out in the garden each day. I regularly visit toddler groups in the local community, get together with other childminders and take trips to parks, local national trust sites and beauty spots. I also have use of an allotment which we frequently take advantage of. I feel it is important to give the children in my care as many opportunities as possible to experience what our local community has to offer .
My Experience
I have been childminding for 8 years now and was graded as 'GOOD' on my recent Ofsted inspection. I decided to become a childminder as I wanted a fulfilling job which I could do from home after having my youngest child. I have been a stay at home mum ever since which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I have an artistic background with a degree in 3D design and I really enjoy art and craft and creating all sorts of things with the children. I have 4 children of my own ranging in age from 12 to 26.
My Qualifications
I have completed all the courses required by Ofsted including Paediatric First Aid, Childminding, and Child Protection. I am also DBS checked.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
I charge £6 an hour which includes snacks and drinks. Extra charges apply for unsociable hours. A sibling discount can be discussed. I accept children with 9 month old and 2 year funding.

Jan provides a very welcoming, homely atmosphere. My 2 year old loves going there and often used to cry when it was time to leave!! She provides a variety of activities and they are all fun yet educational.. her communication with parents is excellent.. Our daughter looks forward to going there so that's the best recommendation for me!!
