My Experience
01/2017 - Level 3 Nursery Nurse (Ciara's Tots ) At Ciara's tots I had my own designated room (Toddlers) with another member of staff. I was in charge of planning and supervising activities such as arts and crafts, music and baking, helping the children to learn numeracy and language skills through games and songs and also supervising the children whilst they eat etc. My role as a nursery nurse also consisted of providing the best possible standards of care and education for children as well as ensuring that the environment is safe and secure for the children to play.
03/01/16 - Level 3 Play Worker & Nursery Nurse Role (Kids and Cubs Levenshulme)
Breakfast club – Making breakfast, setting activities up before the kids arrive, checking home-work making sure its completed for when it needs to be in. Working together with the team to identify children that would benefit from a settling start to the day with structured activities and a healthy breakfast, going through health and safety with the children before walking the children to school and identifying risks and hazards.
After School Club -Having structured afternoon activities ready, checking if children need any help with homework. It is also my responsibility to make sure all school children are signed in and out the building each day. Plan for and set up the play space for the children’s arrival, making sure the children feel safe, secure and happy in the setting, with particular attention to maintaining good safeguarding practice, establishing positive relationships with children and their parent’s by giving them feedback on how their child(s) day went. Contributing to making sure the children’s time at the club is enjoyable, with a varied diet of activities for them to take part in.
Nursery Nurse Level 2 - Within this role, I often helped out with the nursery children and their way of life. I was assigned my own key children and played a major role in their health, safety and development. I observed them and recorded evidence to help build their own personal learning journeys. It was also important to me that I made strong positive relationships with parents and carers.
Lead Play Worker - As a lead play worker, my role was to care for the health, safety and well-being of up to 18 children attending the holiday club. This encompassed planning and implementing fun and interesting activities for the children. I oversaw the daily routine and supported the other play workers in building strong relationships with the children. Within a typical day at play scheme, I would also help to prepare breakfast and snacks. When planning trips out with the children, my role was to carry out a risk assessment on any area before visiting, documenting any hazards and the preventions.
01/12/15 - Ongoing ( Placement) Big Life Nursery Burnage. Interacting with ages between 2-5, Indoor activities such as drawing round different objects, helping them understand shapes/letters by encouraging them to copy what I drew or what they can see. Making everyday routines structured and playful. Sharing books together by either reading them or seeing if they can explain to me what's going on in the book from the pictures. I encouraged the children to be creative by doing a range of activities whether that be messy hand painting on paper, painting objects and designing them with glitter and sequins etc. Placing some objects in a box and seeing if the child can remember an object that’s in there. I encourage the children who are shy to come out of their shell by letting them talk about their favourite toys and offer rewards like stickers as praise. Assisting with Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner/outdoor play etc. Helping with safeguarding and the health and safety of the children and other nursery related activities.
09/2015 – Live out Nanny role
Prior to working in nurseries I have also worked as a live out Nanny before. Role included working with children aged 0-5 and 5-12 and included a range of activities for example: with the younger children I would be helping with the caring aspect so including changing nappies, cooking, cleaning, doing general house-work, keeping the children entertained so playing games like ‘what's in the box’ which was a simple but fun game where the child would have to remember the items in the box, fun and educational. With the older children so 5-12 I would assist with homework, take the child /children out to a local park or museum and generally keeping the children entertained, so creating fun ideas and games for them to stay engaged aswell as general house duties.

Nora agreed to look after my 1-year-old son for £20/h (evening time). My wife and I were waiting for her to come, but unfortunately, she did not appear at all and did not answer my calls or WhatsApp messages. All of the sudden, I received an SMS message from her saying that she had an emergency and cannot come to look after my son. In short, she ruined my plans.

Thanks for your review! but with all due respect I had told you I was in the hospital with my husband it was an emergency and he is still there with his chest. Sometimes these things in life pop up and I tried to cal and explain so I sent a message to get in touch and I didn’t have a great signal I was worried out of my mind about my partner so could not leave the hospital and I am deeply sorry for this once again as this has never happened before but I did not do it intentionally so I think this review is unfair.
Nora has been looking after my now 6-month old for a few months. We’re very lucky to have her and we fully trust her with our baby. She’s very experienced and fully qualified. As a first time parent, I have learned a lot from her.
She changes nappies, prepares bottles and assists with feeds along with general house work duties. She also takes him out daily to play centres or around the city.
Nora is very reliable, well mannered, hardworking and great with my son. My son has always been very happy spending time with Nora. I would highly recommend her.
