My Summary

My Experience

Throughout the years, I have worked with children in a variety of capacities. I have been lucky enough to help families with the very youngest (although not new-born), starting from 3 months of age and spanning up to 12/13 years. Some experience has been gained in formal settings as a Nursery Nurse or Play-worker (school environment), or as a nanny in people's homes.

I am currently looking to update my Paediatric First aid qualification, and although I am not currently ofsted-registered, I would also like to renew my registration as soon as possible: I know many parents appreciate the assurance that gives.

I have just finished working in two separate roles, both privately. Coincidentally both of these involved working with additional needs & disabilities.

Prior to this I held the role of SenCo (Special Needs Coordinator) in a nursery, allowing me to become familiar with some of the processes involved with accommodating SEND in an early years setting. Similarly, before that I worked for a long time with three boys within a family, one of whom lives with autism. The latter role not only consolidated past experience working with older children (primary to early teenage years), but it prompted me to think more precisely about the role I might play for a family with a child whom has additional needs.

Above all I enjoy my job greatly. I am privileged to be entrusted with people's ‘nearest and dearest’- and I do not take this lightly! The satisfaction of making children’s time enjoyable, safe and educational is priceless to me, and I count myself very lucky.

My Qualifications

I have a degree in Psychology, and I also have a Common Core Skills qualification from previous Ofsted registration, which I shall be looking to update. I am part of the Voluntary Register of Childcarers.

My Availability

I am available at all various times during these holidays (August ‘23), as nannying family is away. All requests for childcare will be considered.

In the past I have worked weekends, evenings (babysitting very late); conversely I have started at the “crack of dawn” too — and all varieties in between. I feel very happy slotting in the situation as needed. I appreciate it’s not always as easy for the ‘little ones’, but the experience of settings as well as babysitting for lots of varied people has helped with learning to settle children and I know I can be there for them whilst they learn to trust me.

Of course every family/parent has different requirements for childcare, I am very willing to consider each and everyone in their own right.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £16.00 per hour
• Nannying from £16.00 per hour (gross)

I charge £16/hour, regardless of whether I am nannying during the day, or babysitting in the evening. Overnight rates can be negotiated where suitable.
