About Me
Hi, my name is Val Madeley. I am an Ofsted registered childminder working in Altofts. My husband David & I work together as Busy Little Fingers Childminding. We have 2 grown up children of our own. We offer family centred childcare in our own home. Our priority is to ensure the children feel happy and secure and are able to form good, healthy relationships through learning to care about and share with eachother. We offer the children a variety of activities & experiences both in our home and outside of it. We regularly attend local toddler groups with the children &, at home, organise a wide range of creative activities such as spaghetti painting, dough modelling, sewing, collage, painting etc. We also spend time reading, singing, playing games, messy play, garden play etc & have a wide range of toys & play equipment. During school hols we organise days out, picnics & trips to the local playground as well a busy timetable of crafts, games, playtrays and a large selection of toys which the children can choose from. We love animals and we have both cats and dogs as part of our family. We offer care from birth to 10+ and can deliver/collect from Lee Brigg Infants and Altofts Junior school. I have over 27 years experience working as a childminder and my husband has 17 years experience. We have experience of caring for a child with Downs Syndrome.
My Experience
I have been a registered childminder for 22 years and my husband for 12 years. We have minded children from 4 months to 11 years old. We also have experience of caring for children with special needs including Downs Syndrome, Autism and Visual Impairment.
My Qualifications
We both have NVQ Level 3 qualifications in Children's Care, Learning and Development and Level 3 Certificate in Early Years Foundation Stage Practice. We both are First Aid trained and have a Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering.We have attended numerous training courses ranging from Makaton sign language, inclusion of children with social & emotional difficulties, inclusion of children with sensory impairment and 'Everyone Join in' to practical creativity, story sacks and Schemas. We are registered to deliver government funded childcare for children from 9 months to 5 year olds.
My Availability
We are available Monday to Thursday during term time and school holidays between 7.30am and 5.30pm.

Val and David are looking after my daughter for over 3.5 years. Lil started to attend when she was 13 months old.
In this time they helped her to develop and become a confident little girl.
Their activities are broad ranging helping children to learn through play. There are regular outings-woodlands, museums, parks etc. where children can broaden their experiences of the world around.
Val and David focus on values such us caring, sharing, politeness. They doing a great job of preparing children in readiness to school.
Val and David are caring and offer home from home environment.
