Hi, my name is Debbie and I am based in Vicars Cross.
About me: I am a mature mum of 2 and married to Paul. We have 2 children, age 18 and 14. They both go to a theatre dance school. My daughter also has singing lessons and my son is currently at a dance college. I also have 2 step children in their 30's and 2 grand children!
I have been OFSTED registered since December 2015. At my most recent inspection, April 2023, I was graded as a 'GOOD' provider of home-based childcare.
Before I was a childminder I had a successful career in Retail Management and Internal Audit. I have decided on this change of career as I love how rewarding it is to watch children grow and develop to become their own little person. Becoming a childminder also suits my own family needs and lifestyle. My mum was a childminder when I was growing up which has played a part in inspiring me to do the same.
My aims and objectives are;
To follow the EYFS guidelines set by OFSTED
To ensure that all children receive the best opportunities
To provide a fun environment that offers varied activities both indoors and outdoors
To work in partnership with parents

My Experience
I was registered by OFSTED December 2015.
I have been running a successful childminding service for families in Vicars Cross and surrounding areas since. I have a large garden with a permanent gazebo and a summer house. Thats were most of the toys are kept. I also use the rear of my home for play, reading, sleeping, cooking and other activities. I take the children to different styles of playgroups, indoors and outdoors, and go on outings to local parks an further afield when I can, either with other childminders or on my own.
I am a member of Chester Childminding Association. This is a close network of childminders who regularly hold their own baby and toddler group were children can play, learn and explore new skills and childminders can share their experiences and ideas with each other. We also have fun days out as a group or smaller individual groups.
My Qualifications
Ofsted Registered Childminder
CACHE level 3 Award in Home Based Childcare which includes the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Level 3 Paediatric First Aid
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS formerly CRB) for myself, my husband and our son (age 18).
Annual training for Safeguarding to ensure I have the most up to date information available.
Regular training to contribute to my CPD, (continuing professional development)
My Availability

My opening hours are Monday to Thursday, 8am to 6pm and school wrap around care on a Friday.
I have limited extended hours available
Occasional weekends and bank holidays by mutual agreement.
I care for children from birth to 11 years old.
School wrap around service available for Oldfield Pre School and Oldfield Primary school.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.50 per hour
My fees are generally per session with extended hourly rates available. I can also offer upto 30 hours funded hours subject to availability. Please contact me for more information.

- I provide drop offs and pick ups at Oldfield Primary School

We used Debbie occasionally for our 1 year old son. The setting that she provided is safe and secure and she provides a perfect balance between exploratory play and a reassuring learning environment. Her garden is lovely and has a great 'played in', homely feel to it. She also made delicious meals which our little boy enjoyed, so much so that we stock piled on all his faves from Debbie's on our food shop! Debbie has a very professional and level headed approach to childminding. She is in full control during the hustle and bustle that childminding brings, yet is consistently attentive to the children in her care. She is an excellent communicator and is always reassuring, which is just what I needed as I adjusted in my back to work routine as a busy working mum. Thank you Debbie for providing a caring, safe and fun environment for our little boy to thrive in!

WOW! Thanks for your amazing review. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. A lovely little boy once settled, and lovely parents too. I look forward to having him again during the school holidays.
I met Debbie when I needed someone to look after my two daughters at short notice. My girls had the best time with Debbie, and loved their time there and didn't want to come home! I would certainly recommend Debbie; she has a lovely house with a massive garden; both full of lots of toys to entertain the children. She sat with them both and they did craft activities during the afternoon which was a lovely idea. Being a single mum, working full time with shifts I really appreciated how she helped me out at such short notice and was so pleased my girls had such a great time with her.
