Tots Day Nursery – Nursery Manager Feb 2014- Aug 2015
My role was to oversee the day-to-day running of the nursery, to ensure all children, staff and parents are happy. To provide the best possible care, keep paperwork up to date, construct polices and procedures ensuring they are adhered to at all times. To make sure that the nursery meets the OFSTED standards and requirements, and that the children are offered healthy meals and provided with a safe, caring and stimulating environment to learn and develop. To communicate and work with families and other professionals to ensure the best possible care is given for their individual needs and requirements, and most importantly to safeguard all children and staff.

Elmscot Day Nursery – Senior Nursery Nurse Dec 2012 – Feb 2014
Room Leader and Behavioral Management Coordinator of the Nursery, where my main roles consisted of: leading the staff in the room ensuring all required paperwork is complete, and overseeing children’s development files to make sure the planning of activities reflected their individual needs, holding parents evenings and continually working in partnership with parents to develop positive relationships, taking time to get to know the families. Making sure both staff and children have a clear daily routine to follow; adjusting this to meet the needs of the children and staff. Being a first point of call for both parents and staff when issues may arise.

To play and work with the children in order to observe, plan and carry out activities to meet a child's next steps. Nappy changes, cleaning and preparing healthy snacks. To work as part of a team to ensure the children receive the best possible opportunities and experiences. Fulfilling my role working with my key children to learn and understand their interests likes and dislikes so that the planning will reflect this. Whilst working at Jack in the Box I completed my Level 3 Diploma in Childcare.

Private Nanny – Kempson Family Aug 2011 – Oct 2012

I first realised my passion for childcare whilst nannying for a wonderful family, with one baby girl aged 6 months. Once mum returned to work from maternity leave I was responsible for looking after the baby, providing a stimulating daily routine, ensuring healthy meals were provided and help out with light chores around the house. While nannying for the Kempsons I decided I wanted to develop my own knowledge so I moved to Jack in the Box Nursery in order to gain my Level 3 qualification.

Jan 10 - Aug 11 - I attended Hertfordshire University studying Adult Nursing - however I decided this was not the career path I wanted to take and left to pursue my career in childcare.
