My Summary
About Me
My name is Ella and I am 26 years old (09/12/1997) and have recently moved to Winchester. I have a huge passion for looking after children and have gained lots of experience over the years. I attained a 2:1 classification in Early Childhood BA (Hons) at the University of the West of England and my level 3 in Childcare. I have had experience working in nursery’s during my placements at university and worked as a TA for 6 months in reception. I have had experience supporting an individual with SEN where I supported their needs with a holistic approach. I am an active person and played for the 1st Women’s Lacrosse team at University throughout the 3 years! I had a clear DBS check dated 18th October 2017 however I believe this has now expired due to no longer working in a school.
I am an extremely warm, nurturing, light-hearted person who is approachable and loves to be pro-active and learn new things. I take pride in the fact that I am a very kind and understanding person. My university experience has taught me an array of invaluable information regarding the importance of the early years for children’s lifelong development and what I can do as a practitioner to best support this. Moreover, University has taught me life-skills such as teamwork, organisation and self-motivation. I am always enthusiastic in what I do and will always work to the best of my abilities.
My degree in Early Childhood BA (Hons) has given me a great understanding of the EYFS and development and learning of children, with an emphasis on just how important play is for this. I wish to support all children of all abilities and ages. I enjoy reading books to the children, singing songs and I would encourage the children to engage in various types of play (such as messy play and pretend play) and within different play spaces (outdoors and indoors), which helps develop fine / gross motor skills, helps the children to understand their world and encourages children to explore their own interests and try new things (the type of play would depend on their age).
I believe a career should be something that you are passionate about and that is why I have chosen this path, as it is something I find extremely enjoyable and rewarding. I am looking to provide childcare in any way I can to help and I am available in the evenings Tuesday-Friday and can accommodate weekends if I know in advance. I enjoy doing fun things with the children; as I have mentioned, lots of playing and activities that are age appropriate as it is important for development and is a great way for children to relax and enjoy themselves. I am not a nanny that will just sit and watch tv etc. I can help with homework and any other tasks that need to be completed that will help you as a parent/ parents.
Please do not hesitate to message me if you have any questions or would like a chat!
My Experience
I have gained experience through working with two Childcare agencies since 2014 where I have looked after many children of a variety of ages and abilities. I have been a nanny to many families and have babysat many families from new born babies to teenagers. I have helped by being a very confident cook, confident reader, assisting with mothers-help, homework, nannying, babysitting, taking the children on day trips, organising play based activities and I have always been flexible with hours and any requests that the family needs me to do or provide for the children. I have also gained great experience from university placements within nursery settings which were undertaken in year 1 and 2 of my course. I have also had the amazing opportunity to be a private assistant carer for a three month duration, to a three year old who suffered from a spinal cord injury due to an arachnoid cyst on his spine, where I learnt a lot and was extremely rewarding for the both of us. This gave me invaluable knowledge and experience, due to the 1-1 nature of this.
