About Me

Hi, my name is Laura and I am 36 years old. I live in North Baddesley with my partner Andrew and our two boys Woody and Fletcher. We also have a little dog named Ziggy. I am currently on mat leave but will be looking for work around November time to start asap or from January.
My oldest son will be attending nursery but my youngest son (who will be 1) will hopefully be coming to work with me. I did this with my eldest son from age 1 to age 2 and then he went to nursery. I looked after a little girl of the same age and enjoyed taking them to toddler groups and classes, walks, parks etc. People mistook them for twins as they played so well together and I didn’t favour my own child. I had a fantastic relationship with the little girl. I worked from her house and brought my child along with me. I have the double buggy but would need to be provided with a car seat. I am also willing to do before and after school work.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, walking, days out with family, Photography and travel. I like to keep healthy, eat well and try to be as active as possible. I enjoy walks with my family and our dog and love being in nature. I am kind and caring and a real people person. Children are naturally drawn to me as I tend to give them the space to come to me and don’t force myself on them. I can become part of the family whilst remaining professional at the same time. I have worked with many different families with differed values and discipline styles, so therefore I completely follow mum and dad’s wishes when it comes to approaching these things. I myself am a gentle parent (I don’t shout, however I am firm but fair) but I believe in setting boundaries to keep the child safe etc.
When I return to work in January I hope to bring my 1 year old along with me. This will not affect my work as I will remain professional and make sure all the children in my care are well looked after. Please get in touch if you’re happy with this. I will be looking for something a little more part time - for example an after school nanny/housekeeper role where I can possibly be flexible with the hours during the holidays. Or a 3 day a week position. I am very experienced with all age groups and have been a nanny for 17 years.
I have fantastic knowledge of the early years foundation stage and ( If you’re interested) I can plan activities and outings accordingly to your child’s age. This will ensure they’re meeting their age appropriate milestones. I have worked with children from newborn to age 16 and as a people person, I feel that this comes naturally to me. Including having a cup of tea with granny every week! I am happy to socialise the children as often as you like as I have a fantastic network of nanny friends around me. We are all a tight knit group and the children have made great friendships.
I have worked in many settings including nurseries, holiday clubs, private households with all ages. I have also had experience with a range of special needs and disabilities.
