About Me

My name is Andrea, and I'm 29 years old. Originally from Venezuela, I'm fluent in both Spanish and English, and I've also learned the basics of British sign language. For the past decade and a half, I've been living in England, where I've developed a strong passion for working with children. Back in Venezuela, my career began in a school for children with special needs.

When I moved to the UK, I was determined to improve my English language skills, and that's when I became fascinated by Montessori pedagogy. Over the course of about 4 years, I worked in mainstream and Montessori nurseries, as well as serving as a nanny for different families. While I enjoyed these experiences, I felt a deep desire for a more personalized approach, providing one-on-one support to children in need. As a result, I decided to pursue a degree in Psychology.

Throughout my studies, I continued to work as a nanny while also taking on the role of a tutor for children with autism. In this capacity, I utilized applied behavior analysis to help enhance their speech and social skills. My passion for child psychology drove me to pursue a Master's in Clinical Applications of Psychology. Currently, I'm proud to be working as a counselor for Place2be, where I support children between the ages of 6 and 12 years.

My journey has afforded me invaluable experiences in various childcare settings, including a Lego after-school club, nurseries, a Montessori preschool, and babysitting. Additionally, I had the privilege of being a nanny for a wonderful family with three amazing children. In my work with children, I take joy in introducing educational and enjoyable games, teaching them Spanish, British sign language, baby yoga, painting, and cooking. I believe in making everyday activities fun and engaging, whether it's going to parks, libraries, or engaging in messy role plays and signing activities.

Children never cease to amaze me, and I find great joy in spending time with them, always recognizing the valuable lessons they have to offer.
