About Me
Hello, My name is Joanna and I live in Southampton with my husband and 3 children.
I have a backgound of Catering and Nannying and hold Childcare qualifications as well as a Hospitaliity and Catering advanced GNVQ. I worked for 10 years in the hospitality industry, cooking in various settings, from large wedding events and conference centers to children's nurseries!
I spent some time volunteering in Vietnam teaching basic English to children, here I found my love of working with children and young people and when I returned to the UK, I decided to have a change of career and went on to train, gain experience and work in the childcare sector.
I have been working as a private Nanny for about 10 years now and absolutely love it, I really enjoy the variety that comes from working with children, no two days are ever the same!
In previous roles I have looked after children of all ages from babies to teenagers, I am ideally looking for a role close to Southampton but am willing to travel a bit further for the right position.
My favourite things are long walks, going to the beach, cooking, animals (and children!) and having fun outdoors (preferably with a good picnic! :-)

I am from the U.S., but was in Southampton on business and needed someone to look after my seven year-old son for three days as part of a longer trip to the UK. After evaluating a number of excellent options, I chose Joanna, and I am so glad I did. Her dedication to ensuring that my son felt safe and secure while also having a fantastic time was evident from the moment they met. She took him to Paulton's Park not once, but twice, and also to Beaulieu, making sure he experienced the best of the area.
Joanna's communication was exceptional. Throughout each day, she kept me updated with delightful pictures, which not only reassured me but also allowed me to share in their adventures from afar. It was clear that she genuinely cared about my son's well-being and enjoyment.
Most importantly, my son absolutely adored Joanna. My son is a bit eccentric, which can be difficult for some caregivers, but he and Joanna formed a great bond he talks about his days with her constantly now that we're back home. Her warmth, patience, and ability to make each day an adventure made a lasting impression on him.
I cannot recommend Joanna highly enough. She is not just a nanny but a true professional who goes above and beyond to ensure both the child and parent feel secure and happy. Thank you, Joanna, for making our trip so memorable and enjoyable!
