About Me
Hiya. My name is Karen Barnes at Rascals R Us Childcare & I am an OFSTED Registered Childminder. I was graded GOOD again at my last inspection. I am able to offer government funding for 2,3 & 4 year olds & accept childcare vouchers & tax free childcare.I have been minding for over 30 years.I have 4 children of my own & 2 grandchildren.We welcome all the children into our family home,where we offer love,cuddles,learning through play and good family values,in our home from home environment.
I have a separate playroom full of various toys,to include messy and creative play.The garden has a slide, sandpit and water wall with ride on toys,bikes and scooters with a wendy house for imaginative play with a mud kitchen.The children are taken to local toddler groups and taken on trips out to the beach,woods,soft play centres and many more.I try to cater to everyones individual needs so please ask ?
My Experience
I have been minding for over 30 years and been a parent for longer.I have minded children with learning difficulties as well as with medical problems.Over the years I have attended many childcare courses including child protection levels 1 & 2, inclusion training, first aid & have NVQ 3 in health & social care. Most recently I have done online learning to ensure my setting is covid safe.
I have run toddler groups & been the chairperson & treasurer of the local pre school. I am also the secretary as well as the welfare officer for the local football club so have also attended safeguarding courses through the FA.
My Qualifications
I hold current paediatric first aid & safeguarding certificates & and have attended various childcare courses including child protection levels 1 & 2, inclusion training, food hygiene level 2 & have NVQ 3 in health & social care
My Availability
I work from 7.30am to 5.30pm but am very flexible and am willing to work outside these hours so please ask ?

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.50 per hour
I charge £5.50 an hour for under 5s ( £6.00 an hour term time only) and £6.00 an hour for school age children. Ad hoc rates £6 an hour
