My Summary

My Experience

I have several experiences working with children. I want to eventually use drama as a tool to help young people gain confidence and discover themselves through drama work shops. I have completed work experience in Bright Start Nursery, baby sat and looked after younger cousins in the past. The most rewarding youth work I have completed was during my degree. I toured 'Theatre in Education' Shakespeare pieces with workshops afterwards around several primary schools in London. I went to Pupil Referral units and worked closely with troubled children. In 2015 I went to Chile and worked in Senames which was where young teenagers lived because of their parents either being abusive, addicted to drugs or alcohol and other unfortunate events.
I worked at LEGOLAND for 3 seasons and worked at Laplanduk playing the part of a magic elf taking the children to and from Father Christmas. I used to run children's birthday parties and I've worked in a SEN school which I absolutely loved and lead me to my passion for safeguarding which is what lead me to my current job role. I have cared for a 9 year old boy with SEN and physical disability, in the past where I would take him swimming, to activity centres and out to town.

During the pandemic I completed a “Step Up to Social Work” postgraduate diploma which I passed with flying colours whilst working within a local authority / children’s social services in the children with disabilities team and the referral / assessment team.

I currently work as a safeguarding officer within a secondary school and absolutely love my job, however, I am looking for some extra money to save for my future ambitions.

I am available most evenings in the week, adhoc weekends as well as school holidays.
