About Me
I am a mom of 2 children and am considered to be a well organised, patient, approachable person with a passion for 'learning through play'. I aim to provide opportunities for children to learn and develop the skills they need to reach their full potential. I offer indoor and outdoor activities everyday; we have a small park a short walk away from my setting, which we will enjoy as often as possible. We will also explore our surrounding areas of woodland, Essington Pool and local open grassed areas to open up opportunities for the children to learn about nature in our local environment and to encourage them to engage in physical activity and to safely enjoy the outdoors. The children in my setting will enjoy a variety of opportunities to engage in activities such as mark making, sand and water play, role play, quiet time, Early number skills, construction, small world, painting and crafts, cooking, planting and so much more!
I have close links to New Invention Infant School and offer school 'drop offs' and 'pick ups' to New Invention Nursery, Infant and Junior schools, as well as Lane Head Nursery.
I also offer before and after school care for children attending these schools and Nursery. I accept funding for eligible 3 year olds and 2 year olds.
I provide breakfast for children who attend between 7.30am and 8.00am, drinks are available throughout the day and a buffet style choice of healthy snacks twice a day.
My Experience
I am OFSTED registered and have the PACEY Home Based Childcare qualification, along with a BTEC in Nursery Nursing and Higher Level Teaching Assistant Status (HLTA Status). I have gained over 20 years experience in Early Years Education as a Nursery Nurse, Teaching Assistant and more recently as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant. I am trained in and use basic Makaton signing and am also trained in developing, supporting and tracking Speech and Language development in Early Years children. During my time in education I have also worked with the Letterland phonic scheme and Numicon Numeracy scheme used by New Invention Nursery and Infant School, I will use these schemes, offering your child the opportunity to get a head start in these area's.

My Availability
I currently have spaces for school drop offs to New Invention Infants, Junior and Nursery schools.
My setting opens Monday to Thursday 7.30 am - 5.30 pm except for Bank Holidays and family holidays.

My Fees
- Childminding from £4.25 per hour
£4.00 per hour
£2.00 per half hour (minimum period that can be booked)
50p breakfast per day (lunch to be provided by parents)
50p snack per snack (2 snacks available per day;this includes drinks for the day and a carton of milk)
No charge when provision is closed due to personal sickness (if myself or my children are infectious)
Full fee per day if your child does not attend due to sickness/holiday
£1.00 per school drop off or pick up
£10.00 fee for late collection (please see my uncollected child policy)
I accept 30 hour funded child care places, and 2 year old funded places.
Fees are to be paid upfront before the first of the next month. If payments are not paid on time, I will be unable to care for your child until payments are made.

Due to working commitments over the school holidays I had been looking for a flexible yet professional childcare provider I could trust to take care of my 5 year old daughter.
I was so pleased when I found Venessa and Home from Home Childcare.
My daughter has anxiety issues and I very rarely leave her with anyone other than family, so didn't think I would ever find a setting that she would be comfortable in.
Venessa has a wonderful nature and has the perfect setting for any child, her ability to make children feel as ease is amazing. Plus there are none stop, interesting and educational activities as well as time for my daughter to choose different aspects of play that interests her.
I was so happy with the on going communication from Venessa - she was able to update me re my daughters day electronically and give me all the information I needed as a parent so I had no concerns.
What was really lovely about the setting was Venessa's own children. As I have used the setting during holiday time her own children where also at home and are a credit to her and her husband. Beautifully behaved and played really well with my daughter- so much so she now can't wait for her next visit.
If you are looking for a trustworthy professional childminder with a beautiful, clean setting then look no further. I can not recommend Venessa highly enough.

Both my children attend Home from Home with Vanessa. My children can be quite clingy and at first I was worried about moving them to a new setting for this reason but Vanessa made this process so calm and easy. She build up relationships with both of my children from the moment they met. She found out their likes and dislikes and used this information to make their first drop off as happy as possible. Vanessa welcomed both my children with open arms and gained their trust from day one. She consistently makes sure they know what they will be doing during the day and what they are doing next. Her calm and caring nature is evident within the setting as soon as the children are welcomed in and both my children love their time with her. Vanessa really has created a home from home setting and both my children are so settled and happy after only a few weeks. I look forward to hearing all about their day through my children when I pick them up and also through the daily diary Vanessa produces each day.
