My Summary
About Me
My name is Linda, I am from Colombia and I speak Spanish and fluent English. I am eligible to work in the UK as I hold as EU passport. I finished my BA in International Business but I love working with children, I used to help in a nursery at home and I looked after children between 4 months-7 years old. I came to the UK in January of 2017 and I worked with 3 families as a live-in nanny and many more as live-out and ad doc babysitter.
I am Ofsted registered, I have completed a Common Core Skills Training and a Paediatric First Aid Emergency Training. I also hold a clean DBS check. I am very passionate about children and love to be part of their development. I am very flexible and happy to fit in myself to the needs of the family.
My Experience
I helped in a nursery and look after children between 4 months and 5 years, I was involved in taking them to the park, read histories, changing nappies, drawing, painting, treasure hunts, responsible for snack time and tea time. In the UK I have worked with a range of 10 weeks old until 7 years old
As live-in, I had help with 3 families
* 8 months girl
I was responsible for breakfast, morning activities like playgroup, parks or soft plays, snacks, nappy changes, putting her down for naps, fun days out, baby classes and storytime
* 4 and 6 years old boy
My responsibilities were helping with breakfast, had school bags and water bottles ready, check that the uniforms and all the books were ready for the day, school runs, I was staying with the younger and we used to go to morning activities like playgroups, storytime and rhyme time in the library, light lunch and nursery run, in the afternoon we went to parks, play football, hide and seek, board games like guess who, chess, puzzles, and piano lessons
* 1-year-old boy and 3 years old girl
I was helping with breakfast time, getting dress, school run for the older one, interact with the baby in the morning, changing nappies, putting his down for a nap, attending classes like swimming and sign and sign, sing songs, read books, with both we used to bake, dance, sing, draw, paint and face painting was our favorite activity, help with tea time, bath and bedtime
As a live-out
* 4 months old girl
I'm helping with feeding bottle and weaning, changing nappies, taking her out for walk and doctors appointment, play-dates keeping everything nice and tidy in the nursery
* 11 months girl
I was helping with weaning, fun days out, trips to the library, coloring in, puzzles, nursery rhymes, singing, and dancing
* 10 weeks old twins (boys)
I was making sure both of them slept the correct amount of hours, were fed and stimulated, lots of stories and nursery rhymes
* 8 months old twins (boy and girl)
* 11 months old girl
What parents think about me
“I highly recommend Linda as a nanny. Let me assure you that it would be extremely challenging to find a better candidate. After two years where Linda has been part of our family, our little one will start the next chapter at nursery. Our daughter has enjoyed every minute that she has spent with Linda.
We have 100% confidence in Linda and she was responsible for anything related to our daughter. This included medical visits, learning development, potty training, nutrition (from preparing the bottle when she was a baby to planning and preparing her daily food now). Linda is trustworthy, professional, reliable (she has not missed a single working day), flexible, and caring. Qualities that I believe are extremely important to be a great Nanny. Thanks to Linda, our daughter loves books and storytelling as she has spent time reading to her while she was learning her first words in English. She has taught our daughter to be more independent as she has learned how to eat by herself and use the potty. Linda has also been very proactive in finding suitable activities for our daughter to develop and spend time with other kids.“
“Linda and Exxx are always undertaking some sort of activity all of which are educational and fun that includes cooking together, painting, Spanish singing hour as well as attending local toddler groups.
Linda is very easy to live with, she is clean, tidy, helpful, and joins in the daily running of the house.
I would thoroughly recommend Linda to you, she has had a fantastic impact on our families lives and she won't disappoint you.“
“Linda is amazing with small babies, she is gentle and caring. She also knows how to stimulate them gently, and my boys absolutely adore her. They always smile and chuckle with her. They love reading books with her and playing on the mat or with their toys. She speaks to them in English and Spanish, both twin boys love being with her. She also knows when they are hungry and tired and they very rarely cry with her. Our days have positively transformed since Linda has started coming to our house, she is just naturally gifted with small babies. Linda is also always punctual and very discreet, it is a pleasure to have her around. I can only praise Linda, and her next family will be very lucky to have her”
“Linda is very motivated, focussed, and more importantly very positive and energetic. Our daughter immediately connected to her and enjoyed playtime with her. Linda is young but takes her job very seriously, and it was reassuring to see how quickly she was tuning into my daughters needs and meeting my expectations. She is very confident and trustworthy, but also very proactive. She can occupy my daughter with very educational playtime, reading, and nursery rhymes. She took my little girl to the library, park, playgroups. Linda will remember every instruction that she’s given so you can rely on the fact that she will stick to your children routine and keep you posted if any change to it is needed. I would definitely recommend her and hope to be able to keep working with her.”
“We like her for her positive energy, friendliness, and flexibility. Previous families have told us that she is "very capable of having sole charge of children despite her younger age. She is very mature when it comes to decision making and very responsible and reliable. She is very educated and with a fresh approach to childcare. She is full of creative ideas when it comes to children's engagement and activities.
She would be a good match for families who want a creative and energetic nanny.”
