About Me
I have been Childminding for nearly 7 years in my home. The setting is inclusive and Hygge Accredited and my pedagogy puts the child's wellbeing and interests at its heart. I love to be out and about, supporting our local community and exploring experiences. My home offers a safe and inclusive space, with separate playroom and yardigan for the children to play and learn. We love messy play, nature and being outside, cooking and of course having tea and cake together. I also have a small dog called Dodger (a cojack) who just loves carrots and chasing bubbles.

My Experience
I have been registered since Feb 2017 and operating since Sept 2017. I received a Grading of GOOD in ALL AREAS in April 2019. Being Mum to a 13yr old and nearly 10yr old boy I am always coming up with fun activities and food fun to keep them interested and active.
I am now lucky enough to have an assistant who is an experienced childminder and nursery practitioner having completed her Level 3 in Early Years. Laura has also level 1 in Makaton.
I am an accomplished cook and endeavour to provide a wide variety of snacks and opportunities for the children to create, cook and bake.
I love to encourage communication, empowering children, by using Makaton (I have completed modules 1-4).I do this by signing regularly and getting the children to join in with songs and rhymes. I love spending time outside in the woods, on the beach and using many local services such as Margate, Westgate & Broadstairs.
A big part of my approach and ethos is to encourage self independence, healthy eating and steps towards greener living.
We are a hygge accredited setting and welcome a slower rhythm into our day to allow for higher engagement and wanderlust.
During lockdown we fostered an amazing partnership with a Childminder in County Durham (The Country Crew) with whom we send and receive regular parcels, postcards and interactions to show the children a different part of the country and how we live and play.
I am currently undertaking an EYPDP in Early Years as well as Level 3 Forest School Training.
My Qualifications
I had an Level 3 (Homebased Childcare Award) HBCA, Paediatric Certificate, Food hygiene Certificate, Safeguarding training, relevant certificates and registered member of Oftsed. Module 1-4 in Makaton. Member of PACEY and both husband and I hold current DBS certificates.
I undertake regular training and cpd in all areas.
I am currently completing my Level 3 SENDco qualification, and Early Years Professional Development Programme and Level 3 Forest School.
My Availability
Updated 23/07/24 - I have availability (suitable for 18m+ but ideally 2years) Tues, Wed, Thurs and Fri.
Babysitting - I offer a service for Friday from 6.30pm and Saturday evenings from 6pm subject to availability within Margate, Westgate, Cliftonville, Broadstairs, Ramsgate areas.
£12.50ph and charged to the full half hour. Min 2 hour sit. Please contact me with your email address for my babysitting information sheet.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.75 per hour
- Babysitting from £12.50 per hour
I charge £6.25 per hour
I accept Universal and FF2 funding as well as Tax Free HMRC payments.
Lunch to be provided for from home
Snacks and drinks are included as well as cooking activities, arts and crafts
I do occasionally charge a small extra for additional outings e.g Cabbage Patch Kids, Half Term Activities, Fruit Picking, Train/Bus Ride £2-£3 Bus rides are £1

Rachael cared for our son from around his first birthday until he was 3 and a half. We feel so lucky to have found Rachael! The setting felt a perfect home from home environment when he was little and as he grew Rachael was brilliant at keeping him active and engaged with lots of activities, interesting trips and fresh air. Goes without saying that the setting was always clean, safe and full of ever changing fun things to do.
Our son loved his time with Rachael, he made lasting connections with both Rachael and his group of pals who he was there with.
Basically we couldn't recommend Rachael enough!!

We are incredibly grateful to have found Rachael to care for our son, Vinny. Vinny has been going to Rachael's childcare setting since he was just 8 months old, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. Rachael has been instrumental in Vinny's development into the well-rounded, cool kid he is today.
The setting is wonderful, always clean, safe, and filled with engaging activities. Rachael's caring and fun nature shines through in everything she does. She creates a warm and nurturing environment that Vinny absolutely loves. Her ability to communicate effectively with parents is also a huge plus, keeping us informed and involved in Vinny's daily activities and milestones.

Rachael has been everything and more than we could have wished for for our daughter.
She’s been at her setting for 3 years and she will be leaving to go to school in September.
An educator, a childminder, a mother, an auntie, Rachael is just wonderful and we’re so

I would highly recommend Rachael and her lovely, homely setting to anyone looking for a caring and attentive childminder. She has been brilliant at welcoming our 14 month old into her home and making sure that he settled and happy during his sessions. Rachael is a brilliant communicator - regularly sending messages and photos of all the exciting activities that they've been doing. She's got an extensive range of resources/toys and clearly has such a passion for helping each of the children in her care develop all their skills and have plenty of fun at the same time!

Our 18 month old boy spends a day a week with Rachael and is thriving with ‘Ray Ray’. His days are filled with nurtured play, songs and encouragement and I can completely relax knowing what safe hands he is in.
I love Rachael’s manner, her sense of fun and energy. I feel so lucky to have found her and can’t wait to see how our son progresses with her and the other children in her care.
