My Summary
About Me
I am experienced in the care of children from birth to 14 years of age.
You will see from my CV that I have a varied mix of qualifications, skills and experience. These include work experience as a Nanny, a Student Midwife, and housekeeper/Cook/Groom . I have the essential skills to adapt and am a successful child carer in the home setting.
Current role ending early 2024 - partime, caring for G1 and G3.
Previous role caring for three children aged 1,3 and 5. I'm responsible for:
1. Providing healthy home cooked meals,
2. Children's washing,
3. Organising age appropriate activities.
4. Keeping children's areas clean and tidy.
5. Changing children's bedding weekly.
6. Assisting with homework/daily reading.
7. Overnight and long weekend sole care.
8. Organising holiday activities.
My time as a student midwife gave me a great understanding of infant needs and requirements, which have been consolidated and enhanced by my nanny role. I also engaged in numerous baby-sitting roles from a young age and continue to work for several families.
After a short period of working in my full time Nanny role, I took on the additional role of running the local playgroup. I was responsible for the village hall, setting up toys, organising different creative activities weekly, preparing healthy snacks and clearing away after the session.
I was thrilled when the Playgroup, which had been at threat of closure, became more popular and successful. It began to make profits which led to more funds available for new toys and Easter egg hunts etc..
I have a full driving licence and have been driving since 2016.
I love children and enjoying caring for them. It is hugely satisfying to watch them learn and grow under my care.
Personal Statement
I have worked within busy family environments caring for children from birth to teens. My roles have been a mixture of sole and shared care. I have participated in schools runs, activities such as Music with Mummy, football and riding lessons. I cared for the children’s day to day needs, cooking, general housework, organising trips/play dates with other nannies and parents.
Cooking is one of my huge passions in life. I would spend my life in the kitchen if I was allowed! I enjoy making balanced meals for fresh ingredients and baking cakes, treats and bread. I love to get the children involved with this also.
Due to the location of the family, and nature of their business I am used to being flexible in my work. Although my role was primarily a day position I worked some weekends/evenings so have been involved in overnight stays, bath and bedtime.
I love to be outdoors and found that the children thrived when being outside. We enjoyed getting out in the fresh air whether on dog walks, bike rides or picnics.
My household responsibilities mainly involved the children, such as cooking balanced nutritious meals and keeping play areas clean and tidy. However, I like to use my initiative and when washing/ironing needed to be done I was more than happy to help.
I have a huge passion for food both eating and cooking! I gained an A grade GCSE in Food Technology. I enjoy taking sole responsibility for cooking family meals at home. I do not like convenience foods - I prefer making delicious and healthy meals from basic ingredients.
My Experience
I have worked within a busy family environment on a stud farm. I cared for two children (now aged 2 and 4 years). I quickly adapted to this role where I developed vital skills to become a successful nanny.
